Learning to bake can be one of the most rewarding hobbies out there, and not just because you get to taste delicious baked good when you’re done (or even before you’re done, if you’re feeling brave enough with cookie dough), but also because once you get good enough at it, you can start branching out and creating your own recipes based on the things that you like.
Unless, of course, the thing you like is cilantro, in which case, maybe you should stick to the books.
Cilantro lovers can rejoice because the baking world has already got you covered.
Baker’s Brew Studio has created a cilantro cake (along with matching cupcakes, of course) for you to enjoy.
“The coriander cake was actually designed for a colleague’s birthday,” the bakery’s marketing manager said in an interview . “She really loves coriander and swears by it for all her hot pot meals.”
“When we tasted it, it was actually not too bad!”

“The crunch of the coriander against the vanilla was a pleasant surprise,” she said.
Of course, it wasn’t enough to just have cilantro on TOP of the cakes — the bakery was quickly asked if the cake itself was flavored like the controversial vegetable.
You don’t need me to tell you that’s exactly what they decided to do.

“Many of our audience have been asking us if the coriander was just for aesthetic purposes or [if] it will be coriander-flavored too, so we decided to make the flavor come true,” the bakery said.
I wonder if the cake tastes like soap to some people?
I have to admit — it actually looks pretty good.
I don’t know if I’d be brave enough to buy a slice, but it’s very pretty and the color is honestly super nice. Would you try a cilantro cake? Let us know in the comments!
