Botox is usually a totally safe, quick procedure. However, very (very) rarely, something goes a little wrong, and the results can be pretty upsetting.
That’s exactly what happened to lifestyle blogger Whitney Buha, who chose to document her experience with plastic surgery gone wrong on her social media.

She’s a lifestyle influencer and blogger from Chicago. She runs somethingwhitty.com, where she documents her new favorite fashion trends, books, and places to shop in Chicago.
Recently, she started gaining media attention for a big Botox incident.
Whitney posted a hilarious, self-deprecating TikTok about her situation.
She participated in the “how it started vs. how it’s going” trend, but with a big twist. She started out showing pictures of herself pre-Botox, which she gets about twice a year.
And then…bam.
She now has partial eyelid ptosis, aka eyelid droop. As a result of the droop, her other eye started compensating for its compromised vision by widening involuntarily.
Whitney has a pretty good sense of humor about it, tbh.
Even though the whole thing is pretty awful, she’s decided to embrace the weirdness and document her journey with botched Botox on social media. I mean, why not? People should see the realities of plastic surgery!
So, what happened?
Whitney headed to a different doctor to find out what went wrong.
“When injecting Botox, it does the opposite of what the muscle is intended to do,” her doctor explained.
Something went pretty wrong.
She said the Botox was injected into the wrong muscle. Since the botox causes an opposite reaction, it partially paralyzed her eyelid and forced it downward, hence her drooping eye.
Is it fixable?
Yes and no. The only thing that will truly even her eyes out is time. The Botox needs to wear off and allow the muscle to bounce back.
However, she has explored some solutions in the meantime.
Surprisingly, the solution is more Botox. Adding it along the lash line in two places will lift the eye back up.
She’s also exploring special eyedrops called Upneeq, which will help raise the eye a few millimeters.
She’s also been posting all of her solutions in order to help others.
She’s tried it all: vibrations, acupuncture, eye drops, heat, and working out. She’s been combining them all to try and speed up her healing, but the biggest solution is still clearly more Botox.
Other users shared their own experiences with eyelid ptosis.
It turned out that a combination of eyelid drops and Botox solved one user’s droop! She told Whitney her eye was totally back to normal before her wedding, thank goodness.
Whitney’s journey also exposed how little people know about Botox.
Apparently, you’re not supposed to lay down for four hours after you get Whitney’s exact procedure done. Many people who get it don’t have all the information they need, and they make mistakes!
This hasn’t ruined Whitney’s opinion of Botox, though.
It’s all down to who injects it, not the product itself! Whitney is still encouraging others not to be scared of Botox. If you want to get it, do it!
Oh, and the original Botox technician that did the injection?
She hasn’t said a thing to Whitney, or apologized. Many people wanted to know if Whitney would take legal action, but so far she hasn’t.
She’ll be back to normal in about six months.
Until then, she’s going to try a bit more Botox and some home remedies.
