We’ve all heard of people getting their very own Cinderella story. Usually, this has to do with someone finding their own Prince Charming and living happily ever after with them.
However, everyone has their own Cinderella story, in which they feel like an absolute princess despite unfortunate circumstances, and this amputee is proof of that tale.
Mandy Pursley transformed herself into a real life Cinderella complete with a glass prosthetic arm instead of a slipper.

Her touching story has gone viral, and for good reason.
“After a medical fiasco kept me from competing at a costume competition this summer, I was going to keep these photos under wraps for another year to try again,” she began her Facebook post.
However, her friend had asked if she had any pictures to share with a little girl who was born with one arm to lift her spirits.

So, Mandy decided to share them with the whole world!
She realized that there were no princesses that looked like her after reflecting on her daughter’s studies of Cinderella from the year before. She had grown up without anyone representing her physical differences in mass media, which made her self-love journey a little bit longer.
She sewed the Cinderella and Prince Charming costumes herself, and had an artist create the gorgeous glass arm.

As she cheekily writes, “glass slippers are SO last year!”
“This costume is dedicated to all the little girls learning to navigate the world with their “lucky fins” or other challenges,” she wrote.

“I hope you know you are beautiful, and that you are UNSTOPPABLE!!! Write your own story, and be your own kind of princess.”
What a lovely message! You can’t help but feel inspired after reading her post.
