Needless to say, fans were totally surprised when they found out the low-key pair had quietly welcomed their first child earlier this month.
Speaking with Esquire the couple shared the exciting news.
“We’re overjoyed,” the couple told the publication.
To be fair, a lot of people didn’t even realize the pair were dating.
“yeah this felt so random? like im happy for them but i had no idea,” commented one fan.
“I’m glad I’m not the only one who just found out they’re together,” commented another.
The couple’s son, Dakota Song Culkin, was born Monday, April 5 at 1:10 p.m., in Los Angeles.
Weighing 6 pounds, 14 ounces, their son’s name holds a special significance to the actor’s family.
The pair named their son Dakota in honor of Macaulay’s sister, who passed away in 2008.
Dakota Culkin died after being struck by a car at the age of 29.
Dakota Culkin was the second eldest of the Culkin family’s seven children.
