It’s no secret that things can get pretty heated on The View .
When you put several people with varying political and religious beliefs at a table to discuss controversial topics, what do you think is going to happen?

During an episode of The View , the ladies were talking about the morning after pill.
Elisabeth Hasselbeck was very passionately against it.
She went as far as comparing it to “birthing a baby and leaving it out in the street.”
Her agrument got so heated that she began throwing her hands up in the air, and that’s when Barbara Walters stepped in.
“Elizabeth, calm down dear,” she said. “We have to go on and we have to learn how to discuss these things in some sort of rational way,” she added .
When the show cut to commercial, Elisabeth’s microphone recorded her reaction to the debate backstage.
“I’m not going to sit there and get reprimanded on the air. It’s not OK to sit there and get reprimanded on the air,” she yelled, among other expletives.
“This woman is driving me nuts,” she went on.
“I’m not going back. I can’t do the show like this. She just reprimanded me, and she knew exactly what she was doing. Goodbye! I’m off,” she continued, before storming off.

In a response to the clip, Elisabeth took to Instagram to share her side.
In a lengthy post she wrote, “Yes-There were times when I was quite humanly reactive. I used a bad word when frustrated. I was pregnant with Taylor and a big conversation about the value and the lives of the unborn took place at the View,” she began.
“It was a battle -but not of the flesh. I used fighting words because I believe that God decides the value of the lives of babies,” she went on.
And in the heat of the moment, when I felt the need to protect what I knew to be truth and had seen with my own eyes on ultrasound the LIFE in my own shell of a body- I used big battle words (one in particular that I am not proud of and am sorry for using in the heat of trying to defend the lives of the unborn),” she continued.

Basically, she was defending what she felt to be right, which everyone has the right to do.
It definitely raises an interesting point in whether Barbara was right to cut Elisabeth off the way she did, but anyone who watches the show knows that this is far from uncommon.
