They always say that kids say the darndest things. From making fun of their parents to saying inappropriate things to strangers, kids have no filter .
But, the best is when our kids try to pull one over on us and think they can get away with lying. Well, well, friends, these kids think they are slick, but they’re also definitely hilarious.

Totally believable story.
Sneaking snacks is not something new to kids. But, this one definitely takes the cake for the most elaborate lie to mom about how he got sugar all over his face. Definitely feasible that he tripped and fell on a donut.
All remote learning kids know the deal.
With teachers so easily accessible via email and Google Classroom, kids have the ability to ask questions all hours of the night about homework and grades. They definitely don’t actually take advantage of it, but mom and dad don’t need to know that.

This kid clearly did not want to go to the dentist, so he devised a plan to get him to go to the “dentist” and by “dentist” we mean the toy store. We give this kid a solid A+ for effort and cleverness with this hilarious lie.

Kids are always avoiding their chores, especially when it comes to cleaning their rooms. So, of course, they will say that they did it, but the minute they say, “Don’t go in there,” we know it’s all lies.
Did anyone else have this problem?
Look, quarantine did a number on all of us parents. From Day 1, we knew it was going to be a blood bath. But, when we were halfway into the “stay at home forever” order, we did lose track of days — a lot of days.
The proof is there.
Sometimes, kids lie to each other for good reasons, but watching them lie opens up our eyes that kids really will lie to us about anything. So, now we have to retrace their steps and figure out what else was a lie.

The old Ferris Bueller trick may have worked back in our day, but now kids are not savvy enough to realize if you are going to stay home from school sick, you can’t do cool stuff with your dad anymore.
Genius planning.
Allergies are real and kids start to realize them when their friends can’t have peanut butter or other things around. Basically, they know they can’t do a specific thing or eat something. So, this kid came up with an allergy we all wish we had.
Sounds reasonable to me.
Boo-boos hurt, but things that help aren’t always medicine and ice. Instead, this kid knows that what will make him stop crying and make him smile is popcorn. So, mom, give him popcorn instead of ice. It’ll do the trick.
Kid is a business woman.
Seeing everyone else get tooth fairy money is a big deal when you haven’t even lost a tooth yourself yet. So, this kid is clearly an entrepreneur and trying to make some money for herself. Can’t blame her.
All kids do this. All of them.
What is it about kids going to the bathroom that they always say they’re done before they are actually done? The amount of time we end up with pee or poop on ourselves during the early stages is truly alarming.
It was worth the try.
With no snow on the ground, it’s hard to say that it could possibly be a snow day and have schools closed. But, this mom knows that her son is still a good person and will marry well to save himself.

If you’re looking for a way to make a quick dollar, just pretend you need to collect your great grandfather’s photos. He so happens to be on the $1 bill, so it’ll work out in your favor. Smart kid.
Kids and scissors do not mix.
Kids will lie and say that they will not get into trouble or do anything wrong, especially with things they are not supposed to have. Like, of course, scissors. This kid couldn’t even cut something that her parent wouldn’t see!
As parents, we have to play along.
As much as we hate acting like our kid’s dumb lies are totally true, sometimes as a parent, you have to pretend you are going for the Oscar and you want to win it all. Pretend it’s the best story you have ever heard.
