People online have been finding ways to give themselves freckles for years . Most opted to use henna to get the effect they wanted, all without the permanence of a real tattoo.
Not Jamie, however. She decided to tattoo “freckles” onto her face, and the internet lost it.

I repeat: she decided to tattoo constellations onto her face. Gemini and Leo, specifically. Using the stick and poke method, Jamie gave herself some at-home face “freckles.” Honestly, I’m super into the idea of this.
People had some questions.
Mainly: will they fade? Jamie assured them that they would, and she’s right — face tattoos fade faster than other parts of your body, thanks to sun exposure, your skin’s oils, and your cleansing routine.
Jamie wasn’t worried.
She said the tattoos would fade completely. She’s not 100% wrong — face tattoos do fade, and she’s a regular tanning bed user. Hers will fade faster than the average person’s facial tattoos.
She quickly realized she may have made a mistake.
The dots were a lot darker and bigger than planned. She took it like a champ, though, and started posting funny TikToks making fun of herself for her choice. However, as she later explained, she definitely doesn’t regret it.
People started bullying her like crazy.
She decided to clear up some misconceptions in a TikTok :
“Okay, fair enough, they wasn’t [sic] supposed to be this dark. They will fade over time because I go in a sunbed once a week. [But] they have a meaning behind it.”

And the people who attacked her mostly entertained her.
“I’m not entirely bothered that thousands of people online are bullying me, because I think it’s kind of stupid that they are getting so worked up about someone else’s face. Like I said: it’s my face, not yours. I don’t know why other people are, like, literally crying about it.”
She was most worried about her dad’s reaction to all the media attention.
“My dad is the most important person in my life, and I didn’t want to disappoint him. Not that he reacted badly to my other tattoos, he always said it was my life and he’ll love me no matter what, but this was a big decision,” she explained.
He offered her comfort after all the backlash.
“He was just like, ‘Don’t listen to them, darling, online.’ Basically he said that he loves me, that I’m beautiful, it doesn’t really matter,” she said. “And plus, he said he actually really liked them, and they suited me.
At the end of the day, she did exactly what she wanted to do with her own body.
“I just think people are mad at me because they couldn’t pull it off,” she joked. “No, but seriously. It’s my face.”
That’s all that needs saying, really. Our bodies are ours to do what we want with them, and isn’t that just so cool?
