Who else loves scrolling on Pinterest to find the most gorgeous ideas, awesome recipes, and fun DIY projects? That’s one of my favorite pastimes. But have you ever attempted to recreate one of these ideas and failed miserably?
Well, it turns out that baking and decorating are not everyone’s forte especially when it comes to those elaborate Halloween-inspired ideas. These people found out the hard way.
1. Vampire’s Teeth
These vampire’s teeth cookies made from marshmallows look so fun and fabulous. Unfortunately, it turns out it’s not as easy as it looks to replicate them. Ha, ha.
2. Chocolate Peanut Butter Spider Cookies
These Halloween-inspired spider cookies look absolutely adorable. But the mess that someone created trying to perfect this recipe is not that appetizing. LOL!
3. Pumpkin Cake
I’m not one to make fun of people who fail terribly at baking because I’m no baking genius myself. But I can’t help but laugh-cry at this.
4. Scary Wolf Pumpkin
I’ve never actually attempted any pumpkin carving for Halloween. And the reason for it is because I just don’t feel confident. See what I mean?
5. Skeleton Eggs
How nice would it be if you could greet your kids with this super cute Halloween-inspired breakfast? If you can’t recreate this, I feel sorry for you!
6. Rice Crispy Pumpkins
What a fun idea for a sweet Halloween treat for the kiddos. These rice crispy pumpkins are so festive. Not so much for the ones below.
7. Homer Simpson DIY Costume
It’s so much fun to dress up as your favorite TV character for Halloween, isn’t it? Well, this DIY version of Homer Simpson failed miserably.
8. Skeleton Cookies
Seems like everyone loves baking Halloween-inspired cookies but turns out that not all of us have the baking chops. This pitiful skeleton just doesn’t measure up.
9. Pumpkin Baby
Professional photographers make these adorable baby pictures look so easy. But when you attempt to do this yourself, it’s a whole different story. Ohh, so sad.
10. Witch Finger Cookies
These witch finger cookies seemed like such a spooky and cool Halloween idea. But unfortunately, someone lacked serious decorating skills here. Don’t try this at home.
11. Mummy Hotdogs
I bet your kids would love to chomp on these fun mummy hotdogs. But just make sure they don’t turn out like the ones on the right.
12. Spider-Man Candy Apples
Wow, these Spider-Man candy apples sure look impressive. They definitely look like they would be hard to pull off.
And, you guessed it, what a disaster they turned out to be.
13. Chocolate Hedgehog
OMG, how creative is this chocolate hedgehog? But the version below is so much scarier. So as far as Halloween goes I say, mission accomplished.
14. Halloween Pumpkins
I dunno about you but this attempt at baking Halloween inspired pumpkins reminds me of something else entirely. And it’s not a good comparison, trust me.
15. Chocolate-Covered Strawberry Ghosts
If the baker of this Halloween creation on the right wanted to scare people for Halloween, I say they succeeded with this melted disaster. LOL.
16. Scary Monkey-Face Unicorn
If this is your idea of DIY unicorn costume, I don’t want to have anything to do with you. Probably the creepiest thing I’ve seen.
17. Monster Bacon Meatloaf
I can understand the initial appeal of this scary Halloween-inspired meatloaf. I’m just not sure anyone would actually want to eat this monstrosity.
18. Ghost Cupcake
I feel bad for the person who attempted to recreate this Halloween ghost cupcake because it’s the simplest thing you can possibly do. And yet, they failed.
19. The Simpsons
Oh wow, I have to give this family some props for their imagination. I just feel the execution failed just a little bit here. LOL.
20. Skull Cake Pops
OMG, I love how adorable these skull cake pops are. They’re so festive. I dunno what happened below though. Did a two-year-old make them?
21. Cheesecloth Ghost
This really creative cheesecloth ghost idea seemed so simple to recreate. But in fact, it gave this lady a whole lot of trouble. What happened?
Somehow this makes me feel so much better to know I’m not the only one who can’t bake.
And those DIY projects are harder than they seem. I hope these people still had a fun Halloween.
