If you celebrate Easter, then you know it’s not complete without an Easter egg hunt. Normally, a hard boiled egg dyed in a baking soda solution and colored tablets will do.
But in the age of curated Instagram feeds and Pinterest boards, that’s just not going to cut it.
You may have never thought to make crystal geode eggs before, but maybe now you will.
They’re so pretty, and anyone would be very happy to find one of these gems hiding in the grass.
There are a few ways you can make them.
Posh Little Designs simply hot glued rock sugar crystals on top of hard boiled eggs, and used some gold paint to make them pop.

This DIY is not for the faint of heart as it requires many steps, but it will be so worth it in the end.
But if you “mess up,” don’t worry! She actually encourages different shapes of squiggles, making them look closer to ones you’d find out in nature.
Barb also uses plastic crystals from the craft store to make them a bit more realistic. This way, they’ll act as decor pieces all year round.
