Katie Holmes opened up in an interview with Elle about what it was like parenting her daughter, Suri, and it’s pretty clear that the two are tight!
Katie Holmes is a name we certainly remember, but don’t hear a lot these days.
She led a successful but unassuming career in the late ’90s and early 2000s, starring in Dawson’s Creek , dating guys like Chris Klein and Joshua Jackson.
But then she went ahead and married one of the biggest names in Hollywood in 2006, Tom Cruise.
Five months after marrying him, they welcomed their daughter, Suri, and Katie basically vanished from Hollywood.
She quietly focused on motherhood for years before launching a fashion label with her close friend, Jeanne Yang.
Not long after that, in 2012, she divorced Tom, and has since been raising Suri on her own.
Although, to the rest of us it seems like between 2006 and now, Katie ghosted us, it’s easy to forgive knowing she has single-handedly been raising her daughter.
If anything, I applaud her for taking a step back from Hollywood to focus on Suri.
She has been dating, however!
In case you missed it, Katie had been dating actor/musician, Jamie Foxx, for the last six years.
Unfortunately, the pair recently called it quits.
And although she hasn’t been super active in Hollywood these days, she has been something of a fashion icon.
If you google her name, you’ll find dozens and dozens of pages dedicated to dissecting and adoring her trendy looks captured by paparazzi.
Anyway, I digress! In a recent interview with Elle UK, Katie opened up about what it was being a parent in her 20s.
And she explains the special bond that she and her daughter share.
She confessed that she has no regrets about having a baby in her 20s — in fact, she was happy about it.
“I was happy to become a mom in my twenties,” she said .

As I mentioned, Katie and her ex-husband, Tom Cruise, has Suri in 2006, when Katie was 27-years-old.
She explained that throughout every stage of Suri’s life so far, it has been a good pairing with where she has been in life and as a mother as well.
BTW, I don’t know if you’ve seen Katie and Suri lately, but they are an adorable mother-daughter duo.

I don’t know about you, but I feel about a million years old right now.
“It’s been nice that our ages fit,” she continued.
“How do I put this? Every age that my child has been and my age at that time has been a good match .”
“We kind of grew up together,” she added.
That has got to be one of the most heartwarming thing any mother can say about their child .
Having a baby in your 20s is not for everybody…
Not to mention raising them on your own, no less. But Katie has clearly done an amazing job!
