Boy, the world sure does suck right now, doesn’t it?
Maybe I sound like a pessimist, a glass-half-empty-kind-of-gal if you will, but that’s only because things aren’t great and I’m painfully aware of that.
If you, too, feel like you’re struggling to find that “bright side” people keep talking about, I think I can help because I’ve just stumbled upon what might be the cutest story you’ll hear all week, if not all year.
Siblings Carmel and Odie are two foster puppies from the Atlanta Humane Society, and they recently went on a little adventure.
As Business Insider reported, this scruffy duo got to take an exciting, fun-filled field trip to none other than the Georgia Aquarium where they were able to explore to their little hearts’ desire and check out all the incredible marine life on display.
Oh, and, since everyone else has been ordered to self-isolate, Carmel and Odie had the entire place to themselves.
During their trip, the pair got up close and personal with some fish, whale sharks, and even manta rays.
With the entire aquarium laid out as their own personal playground, Carmel and Odie excitedly raced from exhibit to exhibit, stopping briefly to sit in front of the glass displays with wagging tails as they stared at some very unusual-looking dogs without any legs.
They even got to run through Georgia Aquarium’s stunning underwater tunnel!
Of course, all that running and playtime made for some seriously pooped puppies, a dog-nap was in order.
Just look at those two adorable pups curled up against each other while they snooze. I’m sure they definitely appreciated getting out of the humane society for a day and having quite the exciting adventure together.
Georgia Aquarium posted a video of the pair exploring on their social media accounts where it quickly went viral.
On Twitter, the adorable clip has over 33,000 likes and has been retweeted more than 13,000 times. And, of course, the comments are filled with people who can just barely handle all the gosh-darn cuteness they’re seeing.
“This is by far, the best thing I’ve seen today,” one user wrote, while another added, “I want to curl up with one of those cute little guys!”
A spokesperson for the aquarium said the heart-melting field trip was about more than getting some adorable pictures of the two pups.
“It is important to keep animals engaged and stimulated,” they told Business Insider . “By introducing the puppies to a new space, they are able to learn and explore.”
They added, “We at Georgia Aquarium want to bring joy to peoples’ day, especially during this time. And what better way than puppies?”
In case you’re wondering, no, unfortunately Carmel and Odie are not available for adoption at this time.
Because of the ongoing pandemic, the Atlanta Humane Society has temporarily closed its doors to potential adopters.
But rest assured that once they’ve been given the all-clear and have reopened again, you’ll have a chance to welcome Odie, Carmel, or perhaps even both pups into your family.
If seeing two puppies run around an aquarium wasn’t cute enough for you, the Atlanta Humane Society has plans for even more animal exploration.
In a recent Instagram post , the organization revealed that on April 6, you’ll be able to see some foster kittens have their chance to run around the aquarium and check out all the amazing sights.
