The Witcher which is currently Netflix’s highest-rated original series, is the biggest powerhouse right now.
People are obsessed with it, especially since they were looking for a show to fill the void that Game of Thrones left behind.

Thankfully, for those of us who love the show, it will be around for a number of years to come.
‘The Witcher’ season 1 is over, and it has already been renewed for season 2.
But the fun isn’t stopping there. The showrunner has plans to go all the way to season 7!
Which, if they do it right, could really work out well for them.
The first season was what everyone wanted and more.
It was confusing at times, sure, but if you paid close attention, you were able to follow.
Plus the pros outshined that: It was funny, drama and action-filled, and had just the right amount of romance.
And the show is not yet done.
When talking about the possibilities of expanding, the showrunner said:
“The worst thing we could do is put all of our energies just into season 1, and not be thinking about where these characters can grow to.” Showrunner Hissrich said.
Considering the popularity of the first season, it makes sense that the show is going to continue until season 7.
Especially with Cavill in the lead role.
Putting the show in his hands was the right move from the get-go, that much is for sure.
He was so right for the role, not only because he’s a fantastic actor, but for the lengths he was willing to go through to play Geralt.
Don’t worry, he didn’t go full-on method acting and start killing people (thank goodness for that), but he did sacrifice things in other ways!
For the role of Geralt, Cavill had to get super built and wear contacts for the part.
Both of which had consequences.
For those shirtless bathtub scenes that had everyone swooning, Cavill actually dehydrated himself for three days to get the bulk.
“It’s not no water for three days,” he explained.
“On the first day you’ll have a liter and a half, the second day half a liter and the third day no water and you’ll shoot on the fourth [day].”
As for the contacts? They nearly blinded him.
“It got to the point where I couldn’t really keep my eyes open, my eyes were watering, had to try and wash everything out.” he said.
“So the contacts, as cool as they were, they did come with some challenges.”
Hopefully, for season 2, Cavill is given better ways to deal with the role.
The last thing he needs (and probably wants) is to go blind for a role.
As of right now, we don’t know much about season 2.
Besides the fact that the show has, in fact, been renewed.
Plus, we definitely know that Geralt and Ciri will have more adventures together, and we will likely discover more of Ciri’s powers.
Hopefully, with seven seasons, the show will be able to flesh out each character and storyline as much as they want.
And most importantly: hopefully, they don’t make any bad decisions that send the internet into a frenzy.
