They share photos , stories, and special moments with everyone, wanting them to feel included. Other people like to keep their life and intimate news and moments a bit more private and close to home.

Many expecting moms like to share “bump” photos with their partners and family.
Baby bump photos are usually taken month-to-month, showing the growth and progress of a woman’s pregnancy. Some women feel comfortable sending them to many people, even posting them on social media.
Other women aren’t as comfortable and want to keep it more private.
One soon-to-be mother opened up on Reddit about her mom’s decision that she’s rather upset about.
“I sent my Mom the occasional belly bump progress photo every couple of weeks, just to keep her in the loop since she lives 7 hours away, and she’s cried a few times over “missing out” on my pregnancy,” the soon-to-be mom wrote.
Her mom has been sending the photos to some friends.
“She mentioned once off-hand that she was showing her BF my picture, and I let it slide because I kinda figured she’d show him, no big deal. Then the following week she mentioned showing MORE people my pictures, and I came down on her a bit and asked who is she sending my pictures to,” she continued.
It turns out, her mom has been showing them to everyone.
The soon-to-be mom said that her mom has been showing her baby bump photos to her two aunts, who she doesn’t speak with, even customers and clients that come into her job, too.
The soon-to-be mom was clearly annoyed and felt a bit violated.
She told her mom to “stop sharing” her photo with people.
“I told her, ‘how would you like it if I shared pictures of you in a bikini with random people? You wouldn’t like it, would you? It’s my body, my picture.’
She half-jokingly told me to stop being a b*tch and ruining her fun,” the Reddit user continued.
The Reddit user warned others to check with who they send photos to.
Now, the soon-to-be mom is uncomfortable sending her own mother photos of her baby bump, because she doesn’t want her photos being shared around with strangers and others without her knowledge.
However, she doesn’t want to shut her mom out, either.
Many online felt it was a violation.
“I’d be livid, and I think you’re right not to share anything with her that you don’t want going further. If she had apologised, that would be different – sometimes people genuinely make mistakes,” one person said.
However, her mom didn’t apologize and instead, said she’d “return all the baby gifts,” instead.
Others said this is why they won’t send photos to their own family.
“That’s exactly why I refuse to send bump pics to all the extended family members (and my MIL) who ask for them. I didn’t want to, regardless, but I had a feeling my MIL would do something similar,” one person commented on the post.
One person’s MIL posted it to her public Facebook page!
“My MIL asked to take a picture of my bump when I was pregnant with my first, and then POSTED IT TO FACEBOOK without asking me. I was like 37 weeks pregnant and felt huge. I immediately asked her to take it down. But who does things like this??? It’s infuriating,” another said.
