I have been living for lifehacks that I never knew I needed lately. Seriously, so many people have been asking me for a little help when it comes to lifehacks, and I am down to give a little bit of advice. Not saying I’m a lifehack expert or anything, but there aren’t many hacks that I haven’t seen or come across in my time at Diply.

1. This is for when your laces are extra long and you’re terrified of tripping over them, even though you’ve tied them up nice and tight.
I’ve never seen anyone do this before, but I’m going to definitely file this under “would definitely give it a try.”
2. Here’s another shoe hack I can definitely get behind!
If you walk like an elephant and your shoes are making way too much noise, add some floor protectors to the bottoms. This can also help with potential trips and slips, too!
3. Do you have a spray bottle you’re worried will accidentally spray while you’re traveling?
Use a towel or shirt between the bottle and the lever. This should stop it from moving while you are! Definitely key for whenever you’re on your next adventure.
4. Guys, I forget my lunch at least twice a week.
Either I forget to grab it before I leave or I completely forget to pack one in the morning. If you need a bit of a reminder when you’re about to leave the house, put your house keys with your lunch and you’ll never forget again!
5. If you’ve ever been to a hotel without a mini fridge, then you’ve probably struggled to keep your drinks nice and cool.
I’ve actually done this on several occasions and it totally works!
6. I used to have a REALLY bad vacuum and some super stubborn carpet.
It just would not pick up dog hair at all! So I may or may not have used tape around my hand to pick up stuff the vacuum couldn’t get. It also works as a lint roller!
7. I’m not sure if this is a lifehack or just a really good life practice.
This bag is filled with stained clothes because the Reddit user always has a bag with clean clothes on hand just in case. Then the dirty clothes go inside the bag so they don’t ruin anything else. What do you think?!
8. Any time something glass falls to the ground, I feel my heart skip a beat.
If something does break, don’t just toss it into your garbage bag. Add a second layer of protection with another bag!
9. Next time you’ve got a bag of oranges or other fruit, don’t toss the netted bag out.
You can reuse that bag for future produce purchases! All you need is a little bit of crochet skill.
Big Crafty Blog used a basic crochet stitch to turn an old disposable produce bag into one they can reuse over and over again.
Every little thing helps the environment. One step at a time!
10. Are your kids begging for a “big kid bed,” but you’re nervous about them rolling out of bed?!
In comes everyone’s favorite hack item: the pool noodle. Put one on either side of the bed to prevent the little ones from falling out.
11. The other day, one of my fellow writers asked me for a hack because she wanted to bring her hot curling iron to the office.
I asked if she had an oven mitt, and she did! She brought it to the office just like this.
12. Are your headphones just not working the way they should be when you plug them into your phone?
You can gently use a toothpick to get all the built up lint from inside the headphone hole. This should help things connect a little better.
13. Looking for a super simple hack to help you save space in your kitchen?
Stock up on a few packs of these super handy s-hooks the next time you’re at the hardware store.
You can build your own shelf like Country Corner Goods to hang kitchen utensils from!
Or you can just use a tension rod and do pretty much the same thing.
14. Playing games and don’t want to get your controller dirty?

15. Feeling guilty about tossing out old, rusty muffin trays?
Well, now you don’t have to! Muffin trays like this can easily be repurposed for super handy drawer organization.
Just use a bit of paint primer to cover up the rust, then follow it up with chalk paint.
Just as Shabby Grace Blog has done, these trays fit perfectly into desk drawers to store your supplies.
16. Have you ever been in a bathroom stall with no hook?
Instead of putting your bag or purse on the floor, try draping the strap around the corner of the door before closing it.
17. Running out of time trying to juggle your day-to-day responsibilities?
I am living for this The Krazy Coupon Lady hack. Fill an ice cube tray with butter and herbs for easy access to tasty cooking.
18. If you’re like me, you hate those hard-to-reach areas when you clean.
One easy fix is to place a toilet paper tube on the end of your vacuum hose, allowing it to reshape into literally any position.
19. While we’re on the subject of cardboard tubes…
Dry your gloves much faster by sticking a tube into each one. You can even place them over a vent for a few minutes to help them dry if you’re in a hurry! Easy peasy lemon squeezy.
20. And speaking of vacuums, this hack is super handy.
If you drop small items, like earring backings or pins, stretching pantyhose across the end of the vacuum hose will allow you to retrieve your things without losing them into the vacuum bag.
21. If you struggle daily with a mysteriously leaky trash bin, here is a simple fix.
Layer the bottom of your bin with an old newspaper and it will help to absorb those nasty liquids.
22. Sometimes it seems like universe just doesn’t want you to wrap up your leftovers.
Covering a bowl with plastic wrap without ending up with a ball of plastic is a struggle. But storing it in the fridge will allow it to unfurl more easily.
23. You can use dental floss for more than just cleaning your teeth.
It’s actually a great tool for cutting soft cheeses like brie, cakes, and cookie dough.
24. Wax paper can save your ice cream.
No one likes freezer burnt ice cream. So, to prevent this from happening, cover your ice cream with a sheet of wax paper before popping it back into the freezer.
25. Cooking is a great pastime, but sometimes handling all that garlic and onion can leave you with stinky hands.
Rub them with lemon juice or baking soda to get your hands smelling fresh again.
Or rub them on stainless steel.
Yes, the molecules in the steel will bind to the odorous molecules on your hands. Ah, science.
26. Knitting with rough yarn and you want to soften it up?
Take the labels off your yarn and fluff up the skeins with your fingers. Put them in a lingerie bag and throw them in the wash; then follow up with a spin in the dryer on medium heat.
27. It turns out spaghetti is good for more than just eating.
Don’t you hate it when your favorite candle has burned so low you can’t reach the wick without running the risk of burning yourself? Take a piece of spaghetti, light it and use that to light your candle.
28. It’s annoying to have to wait for your bathroom mirror to defog after you’ve taken a hot shower.
Fog-proof your mirror by applying a thin layer of car wax to it. Let it dry and then buff the mirror with a soft cloth.
29. Do you ever stress about the germs that are accumulating on your kid’s Legos?
There’s an easy way to disinfect them. Toss them into a mesh laundry bag and put them in the dishwasher. Just be sure to take them out before the drying cycle and let them air dry on a clean towel.
30. What would you say if I told you there’s a way to get your clothes out of the dryer already ironed?
You’d probably tell me I’m dreaming. Not true. To eliminate the need for ironing lighter fabrics, throw a couple of ice cubes into your dryer. As the machine gets hotter, the cubes will melt and create steam, effectively steaming out any wrinkles. You’re welcome.
