Pranks are a time-honored tradition, with a number of social structures surrounding them, such as April Fool’s Day and the concept of prank wars.
They’re (mostly) good, wholesome fun that leads to laughs for all. However, once the classics are out of the way, it can be hard to come up with new ones.

The Ol’ Switcheroo.
As the uploader explained, “Our baby announcement photo. My wife looked so obnoxiously thin 24 hours after delivery that I joked I looked like the one who had just delivered. So we decided to swap for a funny photo.”
Watching. Waiting.
More than once I’ve seen a sentiment like, “Googly eyes make everything better,” but here is some evidence of that not being true. I am so afraid.
“I cancelled a call mid-presentation bc my 9yo told me water was running all over her bathroom floor…”
It was not cool of your kid to lie like that. This water is walking at best, maybe jogging but it’s a slow jog.
“Hmm the can is empty but it hasn’t been opened…”
Of course, this is a joke product, but there has to be at least one person out there who bought it thinking it was real.
“Manager’s last day at work. Another manager doesn’t want them to leave.”
Did that manager use so much and wrap it so tightly that it lifted the car onto the curb a little bit? That dedication would be admirable if it wasn’t a little frightening.
“Future me is gonna have a heart attack when he opens up the attic.”
That’s only if you ever have to go into the attic again. If you don’t, that becomes a problem for the next homeowner.
Brutal Honesty.
Warnings like this are far more effective. I’d rather know it’ll burn my eyeballs right out than just a vague, “It’ll suck” vibe.
“Day 37, Wife still hasn’t noticed the Death Star I photoshopped on our wedding picture […].”
Subtle and far from the focus of the image, making it perfect to slip by the gaze of anyone who sees. This is a secret you may bring to your grave.
“A friend of mine is a school bus driver and nearly had a heart attack when a bread truck pulled up behind her.”
This isn’t technically a prank, but it could be. You could become a menace to every driver on the road with the right picture and positioning.
“Friend ordered a pizza today, asked for a joke on the box. They did not disappoint.”
According to the internet, every pizza shop employee should have a few stock jokes in their back pocket for every time this gets requested.
“My best friend’s April Fool’s prank.”
Now, this is just cruel. Why get peoples’ hopes up like that just to crush them so swiftly? A Blockbuster return could save us all right now and you tease us with it. For shame.
“My dog fixed the blinds for her viewing pleasure.”
Pets are so funny because they don’t understand the concept of property damage or paying to repair something. They do this and think it’s a little joke, or they do it all for their own gain.
“Broke old car window, rolled her window down, scattered glass around vehicle and staged the area. [My wife] wasn’t amused.”
A great prank to pull if you have a spare car window laying around, you know, like the average person does at all times.
Doing Their Best.
They were already trying their hardest, singling them out will just make them nervous!
“Nobody told her to jump in there…”
She knows your silly little game. That look is one of defiance. She’s saying, “By labeling myself this name so swiftly, I have taken power away from you. You will never demean me.”
Honey, he’s done it again…
Some practical jokers don’t seem to know when to stop. This is the fourth time Buttons has done the old dog-in-a-towel-rack-trick this week. He thinks it’s so hilarious.
“Wonder why…”
I don’t have a wife — do I just bring a note that says I can do whatever I want before grabbing that can of neon orange paint or what?
“And now we wait.”
This might be the perfect prank. Low/no cost, simple execution, an element of surprise, and totally harmless. Peak pranking skills.
Mommy, Daddy, can we go see the roasters today?
Finally, a chance to see roasters in their natural habitat. In the land of hot, caffeinated beverages. Just don’t make any sudden movements or show them how much milk and sugar you plan on adding to your artisanally crafted coffee.

Okay, so you’re on Street View now? You see where those kids are fighting, let’s meet there. Ahh, is there anything better than pulling a fast one on the Google Maps van?
“My son thought it would be funny to put his toy in front of the baby monitor.”
And he was right, it’s hilarious. You have a dinosaur for a baby now, congrats!
A good one to keep in your back pocket.

Okay, so you’re probably not getting the deal of the century here. Unless they are real, and this is all part of some diabolical plan to make sure no one actually buys them. Think about it.
Wait, but how much does it cost on the weekend?
So they probably could have gotten away with letting people know it’s $6 at all times. But this way is more memorable, though.
The fake snake prank. Say that three times fast.
We had to include one classic in this list, and this one never gets old… unless you’re the one being pranked. Then it gets real old, real fast. That reaction screams pure terror.
“There is a monster under my bed.”
There’s a flaw in this prank. Who’s going to come into your room to take a look if you say, ‘there’s a monster under my bed!’ A monster? No thanks, that’s your problem now.
“My Apple Pencil came with a friendly reminder.”
Not only a friendly reminder but a surefire way to make sure no one else ever steals your pen. Maybe this would work on regular pens, too.
Absolutely terrifying, and yet so brilliant.
After seeing this, everyone is going to think twice about throwing out old toys. It doesn’t help that this doll’s eyes are so shifty, either.

How many people do you think fell for this one? They should have had you say ‘paper,’ so it could somehow respond with ‘scissors,’ but then someone probably would have beat it with rock.
