Comedian and actor Andy Dick, who is most well-known for his work on NewsRadio, Less Than Perfect, and The Andy Dick Show , was involved in an altercation outside a comedy club on August 10th. Surveillance camera footage had recorded part of the incident.
A man was arrested for reportedly punching the comedian and knocking him unconscious, which can be seen in the video footage.
Dick told The Times-Picayune that he was “knocked out 100% for 15 minutes” and was taken immediately to a hospital to be treated for a possible brain bleed.
Now the man arrested for the attack is alleging that it was in retaliation for Dick groping him.

A law enforcement source told The Times-Picayune that the attacker claims that the comedian had grabbed his genitals before he struck. The man claims when he became angry at the alleged groping, Dick winked at him, which provoked the man into punching him.
A representative for Dick claims that this is untrue and the attack was unprovoked.

The attacker “doesn’t have a straight story,” the rep said. “He’s told several different stories.” Currently, the police involved have not accused Dick of any wrong-doing, while the attacker faces one count each of second-degree battery and simple battery.
It has also been alleged that the attack also punched a second man after walking away from Dick.

No bail amount has currently been set for the attacker at the time of publication, and no court date has been set.
