Fans Rally Around Valerie Bertinelli After She Shares Tearful Message About Body Image Issues

Valerie Bertinelli is getting candid with fans about her body image issues in an all to relatable post. I struggle enough with my body image issues without being in the public eye — I can't imagine how it would feel to have millions of eyes on me as my body ebbs and flows.

Valerie's post has been going viral for her honesty and today, I'm sharing it with you all.

Taking to her social media on Friday, the 61-year-old shared her candid thoughts with fans.

"I'm standing out in the rain because I’m doing my best to distract my mind from spiraling to a place of self-loathing because I saw a picture of myself today that made me want to do that," she began.

The actress shared that she isn't happy with her body at the moment, a sentiment I think a lot of us can relate to.

"I am not where I want to be right now, body-wise. I don’t know if I ever will be, but when I see it right in front of me, it really does send me down that path," she continued.

"And I am doing my best to be positive and more full of joy and hopefully my body will follow along. I’m not there yet."

Ever the optimist, Valerie continued by stating what she was planning on doing to keep herself in a good headspace.

"We can all give ourselves permission to feel joy, be intentional about it, and remember to be grateful," she explained.

"I am grateful, even through all the mess. ‘Cause there’s still good in all the mess."

Fans were quick to send an outpouring of love to the mom.

"It’s not the size of your jeans that matter, it’s the size of your heart," said one fan.

"We have so much to unlearn my friend! You, and me- we are getting there. Your body is an extension of the beautiful human inside of it. Don’t forget that!" said another.

"Many of us feel this way," echoed a different fan. "It’s so difficult to be happy and content with our bodies. I think you look great and your sharing of honesty helps us all. You and your smile are awesome."

We love you, Valerie!
