I’m a lady who’s definitely into fashion. But, there is one garment that I do not hold any love for, alright? And that, my friends, is the bra.
I’ve never really had an affinity for it. Not when I was young, nor do I care that much for it now. Wearing a bra, for me, at least, is a means to an end. You put one on and go out, and then you come home and take it off.

I think many ladies feel the same way about the dreaded bra as I do. It’s just something you’re supposed to wear for one reason or another. After all, it’s considered “impolite” for a lady to go braless. Am I right?
But, hold on a minute — who came up with that rule?
Why do women have to wear a bra if they don’t want to? Because the mere thought of showing your chest through your shirt is going to send men into a frenzy?
Well, if that’s the case, then too bad! Now, if you want to avoid getting ogled at by older men, that’s another story entirely.
Seriously, though, is the world going to end if women suddenly stop wearing bras?
I don’t think so. Take the recent pandemic and more ladies working from home. That old uncomfortable bra went right out of the proverbial window.
Do you really need to wear one during that Zoom call? You can if you feel more comfortable doing so, but you definitely don’t have to. That’s entirely your call.
But what about when you do go back to the office? Would you wear one because you have to or because you feel more at ease doing so?
It might take some getting used to, that’s for sure.
As it turns out, some folks are still not comfortable seeing a woman in her own home going braless.
Television host Padma Lakshmi recently got some criticism for not wearing a bra while cooking with her daughter at home. Come on! Really? Do you think not wearing a bra is going to set a bad example for her daughter? I think that’s taking things to the extreme. Are you with me on this?
So let me ask you a question(and be honest, please): Would you be happy to go without a bra, or do you feel pressured to wear one at least on certain occasions like work and social outings? I, for one, will stick to sports bras from now on if I ‘need’ to wear one at all.
I totally understand if a woman has a larger chest and feels more comfortable wearing a bra.
I wish I had that problem sometimes, ha, ha! But joking aside, it’s still her choice to wear it or not. Am I right? I mean, I’ve never read any job requirements that said, “Must wear a bra to work.” So what gives?
To be honest, people wear a lot of questionable things to work.
I once saw a coworker show up in something that looked to me like pajamas. Am I supposed to tell them to go back home and change into something more presentable? I don’t think so. At least, not if I want to have a cordial relationship with them.
So what’s so obscene about not wearing a bra in public?
Especially if it’s not so obvious to the eye. For example, I usually wear a thicker tank top. And that’s because I don’t want my too much of my chest showing. I don’t care for that kind of attention, thank you very much.
Some women find bras very uncomfortable to the point of being unhelpful.
I used to get a lot of back pain when I wore one all day long. Thankfully, now that I work from home, I can go without suffering anymore. In this case, not wearing one is kind of a necessity, no?
I think in this day and age, we should let women decide what’s best for them.
If you want to wear a bra, do it. If you’re like me and find it most uncomfortable, then go without it.
I can go without seeing my coworker’s hairy legs too, but I won’t ask him to put on long pants just to make me happy. But you do get my point here? Let’s just agree that whether a woman wears a bra is up to her and not society.
