I have to be careful with Edward Scissorhands . While it is undoubtedly one of my favorite movies, it also has the ability to reduce to a sniveling puddle in an instant.
Since it is the Halloween season, I figured there’s no better time to dust off this Tim Burton classic! That’s why I’ve compiled these 10+ Edward Scissorhands mistakes that fans didn’t catch.

1. Did anyone get the breed of that dog?
Take a look at the first dog that sits down in Edward’s barber chair.
Somehow, in the time that it takes for Edward to give the dog a new doo, it’s not only changed sizes but breeds as well.
2. Peg’s glasses are all over the place.
Take a look at Peg’s glasses as she applies the concealing cream to Edward’s face. As you can plainly see, she has them resting on the top of her head.
Watch Closely because something strange is about to happen!
All of a sudden, they’re down on her face!
With each cut of the camera, Peg’s glasses move along with it!
I admittedly never really noticed at first but now that I have, it’s like I just can’t unsee it!
3. Something’s just not right with Edward’s sculptures.
I’m not trying to be a hater, those sculptures are beautiful! They just have me totally confused, if nothing else.
For instance, many of Edward’s completed works end up being taller than the initial hedge was in the first place. How does that work?
4. Is it the left or the right?
Watch closely during the scene where Peg is trying to bandage up her daughter’s hand. The wound is on the left, but initially, Kim raises her right!
She quickly realizes her error and then offers up her left.
5. Where did Edward get the ice from?
It’s a simple question with an incredibly complex answer. In order for Edward to have carved such large ornate statues, the blocks of ice would have had to have been close to double the size.
Does he have some kind of industrial freezer in the basement?
6. What’s a “Master Charge”?
If you look in the storefront windows of many of the businesses in Edward Scissorhands , you’ll notice that many advertise the Mastercard logo.
All except for one who still has the old sign, Master Charge!
7. Jim’s wound is in the wrong spot.
Spoiler alert! When Edward stabs Jim, he clearly stabs him in the stomach. Jim stumbles back and falls out of the window.
But when we see his lifeless body lying on the ground, he’s bleeding from his chest — not his stomach.
8. Kevin didn’t turn off the water at all!
When Edward is working in the backyard, Kevin turns on the hose to help him wash off his hands. After his father tells him to go and shut off the water, Kevin doesn’t actually do anything.
He just drops the hose and walks away.
9. Edward’s skin seems to change color.
When Peg first meets Edward in the attic, his face is so white it’s almost ghostly. He gives her quite the shock but Peg still inevitably offers to take Edward home.
On the ride back, something strange takes place.
Is it just me or does Edward’s complexion seem a lot more…human?
If you pay attention throughout the movie you’ll be able to notice stark contrasts at various times in Edward’s skin tone and pigment.
Was he already into Peg’s Arbonne bag by this point perhaps?
10. How did the waterbed not empty onto the floor?
Of all the ridiculous fads to fall out of the ’90s, waterbeds have to be one of my favorite.
Let me tell you: if you were to pierce the bed, covering it up with a teddy bear wouldn’t do a thing. You’d still have a flood on your hands.
11. How does Edward have memories from before he was created?
As Edward watches the automatic can opener, it triggers a repressed memory/flashback sequence. Here we meet The Inventor and see exactly how Edward was made.
But if he didn’t exist, shouldn’t that mean he wouldn’t have these memories?
