'Father of the Bride Part 3(ish)' Is Coming To Netflix

If there's one movie that is guaranteed to make me cry, it's Father of the Bride.

Is it a comedy? Yes. Does it have my eternal love Steve Martin? Yes. Does the SOUNDTRACK ALWAYS MAKE ME BURST INTO TEARS?! Also yes!

With that being said, I couldn't be more excited about the Father of the Bride reunion Netflix just announced!

*Father of the Bride* is, of course, the 1991 Nancy Meyers CLASSIC comedy starring Steve Martin, Diane Keaton, and Martin Short.

The comedy tells the story of a father (Steve Martin) not ready to let go of his daughter (Kimberly Williams-Paisley) as she prepares to marry her boyfriend of three months.

If you're in the mood for a cry, here's the *Father of the Bride* wedding scene that is my go-to YouTube video when I need to bawl my eyes out:

Steve Martin's inner monologue literally breaks my heart every single time.

The film was a huge success and garnered a sequel film, *Father of the Bride Part 2*. It's truly one of the ONLY sequels that holds up to the original!

Now, it seems fans are in for MORE Banks family goodness!

Netflix took to Twitter to share the exciting news!

"25 years later, the Banks family returns for a very special event to benefit World [Central] Kitchen," Netflix shared in the video message.

It's safe to say that fans of the romantic comedy genre owe A LOT of their happiness to Nancy Meyers.

"Finally! So happy to tell you I’ve made a new movie— FATHER OF THE BRIDE PART 3 (ish)," Nancy wrote on Instagram.

She continued: "Ish is because it’s not as long as a movie but I think you’re going to like it! We all got back together to do this for World Central Kitchen! An amazing organization."

"The cast is all back with some VERY special guests!"

SOME VERY SPECIAL GUESTS YOU SAY?!

Naturally, fans are having a very hard time controlling their emotions on Twitter.

A new Nancy Meyers project is enough to motivate me not to take three naps today out of boredom/sadness!!!

In case there was any confusion about what fans are in for, Steve Martin tweeted out *another* link to the trailer.

It's clear Steve Martin is just as excited as we are for this!

"It’s an actual mini-movie, with the original cast and MAJOR surprises. No rehash!" he clarified.

The first half of the trailer shows iconic clips from the first two films, while the second half shows the outside of the Banks family home.

We then see Diane Keaton (Nina) calling for Steve Martin (George).

"George, we’re all here. Come on," she says. "George! Matty said it was important."

While chatting with *The Today Show*, Steve Martin teased how fabulous the new mini-film will be!

"There are really some good surprises," the 75-year-old revealed.

He clarified that it wasn't like all the other virtual reunions happening these days, saying, "It’s a script with actors with a story."

The movie will benefit World Central Kitchen, a charity that aims to feed children and families affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
