When it comes to movies to make you cry, everyone is different. Some people have go-to cry movies that they know are gonna make them weep for hours. Others watch new films and then are caught off guard by their sadness!
I am someone who consumes sad films and loves a good cry, so when a Twitter thread began discussing the saddest movie ever, I had to dive in.

While there were a host of other movies mentioned (like “Green Mile” and “Titanic”) it seems people couldn’t shake the heartbreak of “Marley & Me.”
The 2008 film starring Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson was met with rave reviews from critics and became an instant classic for many.
*Marley & Me* follows the Grogan family and the adoption of their Labrador retriever, Marley.
Marley grows alongside his family and faces and series of challenges in his younger years.
However, the family grows together as the Gorgan’s welcome their three children throughout the course of the film.

*Marley & Me* is based off the 2005 memoir of the same name, written by John Grogan.
The fact that it’s based off a true story makes the ending 10000x more emotional and makes me want to curl up in a ball forever.
Although it’s been 12 years since *Marley & Me* hit theatres, it’s clear people still think about it often enough to name it their saddest movie ever!
Any one who has had a pet, or even thought about having a pet, can feel their feels with this movie!
Just thinking about this film causes tears to well up in my eyes. Like it LITERALLY makes me weep!
