Shannen Doherty Reveals Stage Four Cancer Diagnosis

Shannen Doherty has revealed she's facing another health battle.

The 48-year-old actress and pop culture icon revealed Tuesday on Good Morning America that her breast cancer has returned.

Fans will remember Shannen was previously diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015, but had gone into remission after treatment.

"I’m stage four," Shannen tells ABC news anchor Amy Robach. "My cancer came back."

The actress revealed she's been fighting her diagnosis privately for the past year.

"I don’t think that I’ve processed it. It’s a bitter pill to swallow in a lot of ways," she continued.

"There are definitely days where I say, ‘Why me?’ and then I go, ‘Well, why not me? Who else?’ Who else besides me deserves this? None of us do."

Shannen revealed she was more concerned about telling her husband and her mom about the diagnosis.

"I’m petrified," she admitted.

"I’m pretty scared. My mom is a ridiculously strong, courageous human being. So is my husband, but I worry about him."

"I want to be remembered for something bigger than just me," she added.

If this health battle wasn't stressful enough, it has come to light that Shannen has entered a lawsuit with State Farm Insurance.

According to TMZ, Shannen has been displaced from her home following the devastation of the California wildfires (damage she's fighting the insurance company to repair) and now, All State is claiming cancer doesn't justify a remodel.

Shannen is suing State Farm over the amount the company is willing to pay to remodel her home.

State Farm claims Shanne's home didn't suffer significant fire or structural damage.

Nevertheless, State Farm claims in new legal docs it has paid the actress more than $1 million, which includes remediation, professional cleaning and rent for a temporary house for a year.

Their statement reads: [Shannen] "improperly claims she is entitled to have her entire home rebuilt at a cost of $2.7 million because she has breast cancer and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease."

"In fact, the first sentence of [Shannen's] memorandum ... reveals [her] plan at trial to garner sympathy by her contention that State Farm must rebuild her entire house ..."

The court documents also confirm that Shannen is dying.

"She is dying of stage 4 terminal cancer," her lawyer states.

"Instead of living out her remaining years peacefully in her home, Ms. Doherty remains displaced and battling with her insurance company."
