One thing that often makes us hesitate to get up is that we never really know what kind of day we'll have once we get to work.

Although some jobs can have a baseline for how things usually go to the point that some people can even automate their daily tasks, most of us are at the mercy of either our bosses' or our customers' whims.

That means you can find yourself struggling to find things to do in a given day or you can end up wishing you had four extra arms as you discover you somehow have to fill dozens of orders at once.

And sometimes, even the busy days you've gone through before can seem like a picnic compared to the crazy times that Starbucks workers have in store when somebody orders 22 drinks. And even that isn't quite as nightmarish as the $7,000 order one McDonald's location got from a local prison.

But while tales of these extreme scenarios tend to focus on the chaos of being in the thick of them, one McDonald's crew's celebration after handling a staggering run of orders shows how much we can impress ourselves by doing what would've seemed impossible an hour ago.

But for some viewers, that celebration had a fairly sad underpinning.

On May 1, a video depicting workers celebrating after a particularly exhausting hour appeared on a TikTok account for the Funks McDonald's branch.

And as the video's caption makes clear, they were clearly proud of the fact that they were able to handle orders for 141 cars in just one hour.

As you can see here, some found the absurdity of the situation they just dealt with hilarious while others simply reacted with disbelief.

Based on the way some of them incredulously repeated the number 141 in Spanish, it was clear they had long lost track of just how crazy that hour was for them.

One can only imagine the surge of adrenaline that sustained them while that was going on.

And many of this video's 410,000 viewers were just as impressed with the employees as the workers were with each other.

As one user put it, "That’s actually insane. That’s almost 2 every minute. The fact u got that many customers and that efficient is amazing."

This comment inspired a follow-up video that credited the staff working in the kitchen for making such a lofty service goal possible.

But at the same time, others thought that this wasn't a challenge the workers should have had to undertake at the rate of pay they're likely receiving.

One person pointed out that this hour netted each of them the same amount that the less-crazy hours that receded it would have while another suggested that they'll only feel like celebrating when these workers are properly compensated.

In the words of yet another commenter, "Made the company thousands just for them to be paid 7.25 what a joke."

I suppose that the next time someone balks at the idea of paying fast food workers higher wages, it would be worth asking them whether they could pull off a feat like this.
