Given the fact that we have stories like this and this about women confronting creepy men, it makes sense that women enjoy women’s-only gyms.
But while this brings peace of mind to women, some men view these kinds of gyms as “segregation.”
This topic was recently debated on a TikTok video where the comments got pretty heated!
Ah, the gym.

It’s an interesting place, especially for women. You go in there to work out and might have to deal with men coming up to you and being overly awkward with you.
But, that’s changing for some!
TikTok user, @heatherhuesman, accidentally started a debate on TikTok when she gave a tour of her women’s-only gym.

In it, she shared all of the perks, including how the windows aren’t see-through and how it’s open 24/7 to women only through a secure entrance.
There are male-staffed hours, which lets women know when males are going to be in the building.

And you can even get free menstrual products!
Women in the comments loved the idea, writing that they would feel so much “more comfortable.”
Heather told BuzzFeed:

“I decided to share my experience because ever since the first time I went into Blush, I felt a sense of relief. It felt like a breath of fresh air walking into a gym with no men!”
“I definitely feel safer in an all-women’s gym.”

“I personally like to wear tight clothing because it is easier to work out in, and I don’t have to worry about men taking photos of me without my permission, or worry about men making me feel uncomfortable while I’m there.”
She continued by saying:

“There are also not so many people there that all the racks are being taken up. The place is very clean and has great energy and vibes to it!”
For the most part, people were obsessed with it in the comment section.
Women, and even some men, were pointing out how amazing this was for women.
It’s about time that they have space where they feel completely safe.
But of course, things took a turn for the worse.
Because this is the internet, after all, and we can’t have anything nice when we are on the internet.
That is the sad truth, isn’t it?
The comments took a turn when some pressed men wrote that the gym is an example of “segregation.”

“This doesn’t sound like equality,” wrote one user. “ain’t we stop segregation like 60 years ago,” added another.
These comments soon sparked a debate.
“Not the men mad because we found a place where they can’t harass us anymore,” wrote one female user.
“men just really wanna be oppressed. why y’all made we want to feel safe when working out?” added another.
Now, we want to hear from you.
