Getting married is supposed to be the “best day” of a couple’s lives . Two people who meet, fall in love, and decide to say “I do” and spend the rest of their lives together. While weddings are full of love, happiness, and bliss, there are oftentimes when weddings can have some mishaps, drama, and heartbreak, too. Now, brides are sharing what went wrong at their own weddings .
Feeling forced into marrying a cheater.
“Getting married hours after I found out that he’d slept with another woman because at that point I felt like… I mean, what do I do? (Not get married is the correct answer but I did),” shared Reddit user GreenMountain85 .

Damn squirrels.
LongtimeLurker1276 said at her wedding, which seemed to be an outdoor ceremony and reception, a squirrel had gotten to the cake before anyone else got a chance to. Actually, before the wedding even started. Sounds like a total letdown!

“I officiated a wedding where the bride’s grandfather died in the bathroom minutes before the ceremony was supposed to start. Ended up doing chest compressions until EMS arrived and then rolled up to officiate and tell my silly little jokes while the family actively repressed their emotions – because they did not tell the bride ,” shared jnseel .

dollyprincessb said her mother-in-law insisted that she show her the wedding lingerie she was going to wear that night so she can approve of it. She said it was “one of their first times alone” and that she was trying to have complete control.
Bad DJs can be a night ruiner.
LazerFort shared that their wedding DJ’s microphone didn’t work during the ceremony and that during the reception, they played the wrong song for their first dance. And, there was bad music all throughout the night, too.
Thankfully, they were okay.

Dr_Julian_Helisent said her mom picked a fight with her at her wedding reception for “not inviting her extended family,” but instead, inviting her stepmom to the wedding. The wedding was very small, with 24 guests in total.

CuppCake529 said her sister took her wedding cabin for herself and refused to sleep at the guest house with everyone else. Oh, and she also announced her pregnancy at the wedding to the entire family.
Bees! Bees everywhere!
“Two bees flew up into my wedding gown as my Dad, myself, and my attendants walked across the grounds of the venue to the ceremony area. I screamed and immediately began pulling up the bottom of my dress as the bees stung me, one on my butt and the other in a more delicate area,” shared Giannandco .
Traffic jams are the worst, too.
lithenblithe said that they did not anticipate how much traffic there would be that day and they were 30 minutes late to the ceremony and over an hour late to the reception. Nothing like showing up late to your own wedding!
Crashers be gone.
“My sister had an intimate 100-person wedding. Invite specified no children, but a certain family (that we barely knew) from our church crashed the wedding and brought their terribly misbehaved children with them,” said user Hellokitty_girl .

GPA77 shared that their priest decided that a week before the wedding, he wasn’t going to officiate because the wife was French native speaking and the husband was Dutch native speaking, and they were getting married in a “Dutch county.”

Super_sassy_cakesf12 shared that her mom got so drunk that she blacked out and passed out in the bathroom. Her own boss had to carry her out. Apparently, her mom didn’t even remember it happened and never apologized for it, either.
They didn’t even plan a speech.
“I had two maids of honor (my sister and my best friend), and neither prepared a speech for me so I had a half-assed improv speech from my sister after my husband had a tear-jerker speech from his best man. It was ok, but it still sucked that nobody put the effort in on my behalf,” said derberner90 .
