For the past couple of years (shortly after the “passé penny” went obsolete) more and more people have been getting creative when it comes to reusing the old coins .
In a recent upcycling DIY, Lady Jordania from TikTok went viral when she filmed herself re-tiling her bathroom floor. Unable to afford brand new tiles, she used a resource she had aplenty: pennies!
She used a total of 7,700 pennies.
Gathering together as many pennies as she could find (7,700 to be precise), Lady Jordania tried her hand at the ” penny floor ” trend, sitting down for the tedious process of laying them out one-by-one.
The floor was then sealed with a layer of clear resin.
Sorting and separating the pennies out into distinct colors, Jordania glued the pennies to the floor, then sealed the whole thing with a layer of clear resin.
All dried and set, her new flooring is a swirl of golden-toned colors, sparkling and reflecting the bathroom lights.
The final result went viral on TikTok.
Instantly transforming her cheap laminate into a one-of-a-kind statement piece, her new flooring was made using a total of $77 worth of pennies.
