This time, a video on TikTok has gone viral for showing us a “grate” way to grate cheddar cheese . It’s so easy, yet none of us ever thought of it!

It’s why TikTok user, @sidneyraz, started a series of videos that demonstrates the things he wished he knew before he turned 30.
Some of these will blow your mind, like his video on how to properly tie a garbage bag.
See, you probably thought that the two handles on the bag are supposed to be tied together.
Not so! As Sidney’s video demonstrated, you hold them up and make a knot.
Then, you wrap around the knot and pull the string through the loop. This creates a nice seal.
People appreciated the helpful hack!
“You mean to tell me it doesn’t work like shoe laces???” one wrote. I have the same thoughts.
“THANK YOU! I’ve been telling my kids this forever – everyone just thinks I’m crazy.” Some, however, were set on sticking with the lazy method. “Dude that is way too much effort,” one commented.
In another video, he showed a clever way to stop a pot from boiling over.
While this isn’t always guaranteed to work, the hack involves placing a wooden spoon over a pot of boiling water to stop it from overflowing.
“It has helped many times,” Sidney wrote.
Sydney isn’t the only one blowing minds on TikTok.
Tayla is a 23-year-old mom who runs the account @homewithtayx.
There, she shares home hacks and cleaning tips with her 20k followers. But it was her “grate” idea on how to properly grate cheese that gained more than two million views.
The hack is so simple, you’ll feel silly for not knowing it already.
As Tayla shows, you simply turn your cheese grater on its side instead of using it in the traditional upright position.
Then, you grate the cheese by pushing along the grater rather than grating the cheese up and down.
Instead of the cheese falling down on your surface, it land on the metal side.
This makes is much easier to catch your shredded cheese and move it for cooking.
It’s also less messy since you don’t have to dirty a plate or bowl underneath the grater to catch the cheese.

“27 tomorrow and I never knew,” one user commented with embarrassed emojis. “why have I never known this,” add another.
But not everyone was convinced about the hack. Some users brought up the fact that the grater was designed to be held upright.
“It obviously isn’t because there’s a base at the bottom and a handle at the top,” one wrote.
“No I’m sure it usually has a handle on the top and the other side would be scratching the plate,” another added. They must have forgotten the meaning of a “hack”!
One user took issue with Tayla touching the cheese.
“Why touch the whole cheese. the hairs from your hands get all over it.”
Some made jokes about transporting the cheese.
“Transport the cheese? Are you taking it on holiday?” And of course, there were those who suggested that she just buy grated cheese instead.
“That’s more hassle, buy it already grated obviously,” one user wrote.
“And then there’s me, who’s too lazy to grate it and buys grated cheese,” another added.
Well, if you’re not too lazy, this hack will save you time and money! Plus, there will be less mess to clean up. Sounds pretty un-brie-lievable to us!
