Imagine being pregnant , and also being a sonography student. The kicker? You don’t actually know that you’re pregnant until somebody in your class finds the baby during an ultrasound .
That’s what happened in a viral TikTok. Or at least, that’s what appeared to have happened . As it turns out, it’s not quite as black and white as the video showed.
A recent viral video shows a group of sonography students getting the shock of their lives.

Posted by a user named Samantha ( @samantha2074 ), a group of students can be seen practicing using ultrasound machines on one another. Suddenly, the monitor shows what appears to be a fetus in utero.
The student performing the sonography then turns the monitor toward the rest of the class.
The other women in the room all look on, and one by one their jaws drop in surprise. It looks like no one was expecting a baby to be there!
The video has gone absolutely viral.
At the time of writing, the TikTok has been viewed over 36.6 million times, and has only been up for three days. Thousands of people flocked to the comments to share their own thoughts as to what’s going on.
Many people were in utter disbelief as to how the girls found out one of them was pregnant.

One user joked, “the way she just turned the screen and outed her … unprofessional.”
“Broke at least 2 ethical rules,” another user pointed out.
Though, there were a lot of people who didn’t believe that this could be real.

One commenter theorized, “Maybe she knew it and the surprise was for them.”
Another said, “That baby is GROWN there’s no way nobody knew.”
But there were some who thought it could be totally legit.

In their defense, a commenter wrote, “people have gone 8 months even the whole pregnancy without knowing so.”
Another shared her own story, saying, “I didn’t find out until I was 20 weeks.”
Either way, everyone was looking forward to an update.

Whether people bought the story or not, tons of commenters were looking forward to whenever Samantha posted the next part of the story. Luckily, they didn’t have to wait that long.
Two days after the first video was posted, Samantha updated everyone.

Samantha and her friend appear in the update, where Samantha is very upfront about the whole thing being staged.
“We are in ultrasound school, and we were having a competition with the other class about who could make the best sonography-related video,” she says.
“So we had an idea to pretend like we didn’t know that she was pregnant.”

Samantha assured viewers that the friend knew as well as everyone else, so “no HIPPA laws were broken there because a: we’re in school, we’re students we’re not registered, we’re not licensed.”
“And b: everybody involved knew.”
Samantha’s friend also explains that they had no idea the video would go viral the way it did, which is why they felt that they needed to come forward and clear the air.
Whether it was staged or not, that TikTok sure was one wild ride.
