You ever see something in a whole new light ? Like, something that’s usually pretty normal, but looks completely different all of a sudden? Yeah, that can be pretty shocking .
For these people, the things they’ve found are nothing like how they usually look. It’s almost like we’ve stepped into an alternate universe, where nothing is the same and everything’s changed.

“This metal thing on the outside of a car wash has an angry face at the right angle.”
That metal vent thing probably doesn’t normally have a face. But just like literally anything else, if the right conditions are met, then suddenly it’ll take on a whole new appearance. Just make sure you don’t do anything to accidentally upset it.
“Asked for a bottle of water at my local bar and received a can of water.”
Canned water seems. Wrong. Like, it doesn’t seem like something that should exist. How do you even get water in a can? Why would you want it to begin with?
I’d take literally anything else in that can. Just not water.

Candy corn is supposed to kind of look like corn, right? I mean, you can sort of see it. Just a bit.
But as far as I know, there are no blue corn varieties. So this blue candy corn just looks… odd. Like, odder than usual for candy corn.

Now that’s just really neat. I bet if you put some of that clear stuff under a microscope, you’d actually be able to see the little helices that make up DNA.
I wonder how similar (or different) it is to human DNA…
“This new variety of apple I found at my local produce store. It has red flesh and tastes delicious.”
That’s definitely one unique-looking apple. But to be honest, it kind of looks good. Just as good, if not better, than a regular apple. And if they apparently taste good, they might be worth going out and buying, just to check out.
“This fully functional LEGO phone I’ve had since childhood.”
I’ve seen LEGO, I’ve seen telephones, but I’ve never seen a telephone made out of LEGO blocks. And it works, too? That’s just awesome. It almost makes me want to have a home phone again, but only if I could have one like that.
“While fixing my walkway, I turned over the stones to discover that a couple of them are actually old headstones.”
I wonder what went through the heads of the people who decided to use these old headstones as pavers. Like, how do you decided to take someone’s whole grave stone and use it as a walkway? Seems a little insensitive.
“They make mini replica MRI machines, complete with noises, to prepare children for their scan.”
That’s…actually really cute. I bet it’ll help a lot of kids out if they already know what to expect during an MRI.
Still, I don’t think I’ll ever see an MRI machine this small again.
“I accidentally made North America while rolling my used clay.”
Yeah, that checks out. Blue and green clay rolled together is bound to make some kind of continent, especially if there’s more blue than green.
To be honest, though, I kind of see both Americas, plus a little Europe and Africa in there.
“Microscopic view of a tree ring.”
That’s definitely not the kind of view you get to see every day. I know that the cell was probably dyed red in order for it to show up more clearly, but it looks totally different from how you’d expect a tree ring to look.
“My coconut oil solidified into a hexagonal tessellation.”
Now this isn’t a microscopic image, but it kind of looks like one. That’s what you get when coconut oil solidifies, I guess.
You’d almost think a bunch of bees got to it, what with all the hexagonal honeycomb shapes.
“This flushable toilet paper roll.”
The idea that only toilet paper can go down a toilet has been drilled into my mind so much, that this is just strange to me. Can you really flush this roll? What would happen when you do so?
“Stump eaten by some kind of critter. Only the skeleton remains.”
In all fairness, tree stumps are just what’s left over from trees that have been cut down. Most of them are either already dead, or they’re well on their way. Even though this sight kind of surprises me, it probably shouldn’t.
“US Banknotes are actually slightly color coded. I boosted the saturation in the pic.”
It’s funny, American dollar bills are always associated with the color green, while the rest of the world has super colorful banknotes. I guess we were wrong, though.
It looks like Monopoly money with those colors.
“This cauliflower I bought.”
It almost looks like it isn’t ripe. But it is. Its Romanesco , which is either broccoli, cauliflower, or both, somehow. Either way, it doesn’t seem like the kind of vegetable you’d find around here all that much.
“This old tree that fell and can’t get up.”
Looks like someone might need a Life Alert.
Jokes aside, the carving on this tree is pretty impressive. Shame that it ended up falling down, but it just goes to show you that beauty is temporary.
“My mom found a folded Ritz cracker.”
That… doesn’t look like a cracker at all. It looks more like a dumpling, or a really tiny taco shell. I’d almost hate to eat it. I don’t know why, but there’s something about it that I just can’t look away from.
“A bike stand built into a park bench.”
Now that’s a pretty interesting idea if I’ve ever seen one! I bet it would be really handy for people who ride bikes but also like to sit at park benches. You know, when you ride your bike to the park and stuff?
“The way the morning light strikes my glass doorknob.”
Wow, that’s actually so pretty. It might be a little too harsh on the eyes to look at for too long, but that’s fine. It’ll only shine like that for a few minutes in the day anyway.
“Because of left over bits from the molding, gummy heart looks kind of like realistic heart from the back.”
Okay, but what if they started making candy hearts that looked like actual anatomically correct hearts. I’m betting there’s a market for that. You know, people who totally aren’t ax murderers or something like that.
“Lactose-free milk mascot doesn’t have an udder.”
This is… so weird. An udder-less cow seems so unnatural. But at the same time, it makes perfect sense. After all, this is lactose-free milk. It’s going to be missing something in any case (the lactose).
“These folks made a candy chute out of a drain pipe.”
That’s… actually really clever. Pandemic or not, do you really want dozens of neighborhood kids in your face, demanding for candy? This keeps them a nice and safe distance away from you.
“Someone turned a stump into a little box of books.”
Little Free Libraries are pretty much everywhere (except where I live, but that’s another story). I think this one is especially unique because of the way it uses a hollowed-out stump. It has that cute charm that really makes me want to pick up a book for the first time in a while.
“A local brewery has a kitchen that looks like an RV food truck.”
Is it a restaurant? Is it a food tuck? Well, it’s kind of neither, but also kind of both. Which is so strange, and yet pretty awesome! Definitely one cool way to decorate your restaurant/brewery kitchen.
“This shower that’s built in front of an old fireplace.”
I’ve seen plenty of random fireplaces in my time, but never one in a shower before. I’m gonna go ahead and assume that the fireplace doesn’t actually work, because that would make no sense. Aesthetically, it’s kind of awesome, though.
“This house is a converted indoor pool, the basement is the bottom of the pool.”
When people talk about having indoor pools, I don’t think this is quite what they mean. Because this is a pool, and it is indoors, but I probably wouldn’t try filling it with water. Especially if there’s a whole house on top of it.
“This pre-popped pop corn in a cinema storage room ready for sale.”
I can’t decide if this is a genius idea, or just gross. Like, do you think the popcorn gets super stale when it’s sitting around like this? Or is it like the kind of bagged popcorn you get from the grocery store?

Mount Rushmore is kind of famous. Like, you don’t even have to be American to know what it looks like. But we do only really see it from one angle, don’t we?

Well, if the last popcorn picture made you swear off movie popcorn, at least you now know what to use to make it at home.

It’s always kind of funny when your food ends up looking like things. Like, when a spilled drop of milk makes a heart shape. Or when a slab of steak looks eerily like the continental US. Just funny things like that.
