Kelly Clarkson knows exactly how it feels to have people commenting on your weight all the time.
Clarkson had some choice words as she stepped in to defend a fellow television host who was criticized for being “chubby” on social media.

Let it be known, Kelly Clarkson has absolutely no time for body shamers!
On Monday, Food Network Canada host, Valerie Bertinelli, shared a screenshot of someone commenting on her weight via Twitter.
“Wow. Someone is always there to remind me to tidy up my negative thoughts some more,” Valerie tweeted.
“Thank you for reminding me I’m so much more than my body. Have a blessed day.”
After seeing Valerie’s response, Kelly chimed in with a response of her own.
And TBH, there is no better way to handle body shamers.

“True power is recognizing the projection of others negativity & punching it square n the face,” Kelly wrote.
“w/all the positive, remarkable, intelligent, beautiful light that seeps from ur pores.”
She added that Valerie should feel bad for the people who criticize her.
“Pity people that speak ill of others because while some of us r dancing, the others r too afraid,” she wrote .
Valerie replied to Kelly’s tweet, thankful that the “American Idol” superstar she stood up for her.
“Love you,” she wrote, with two heart emojis.
And naturally, fans of both Valerie and Kelly applauded them for the way they handled things!
Kelly’s tweet actually reaffirmed just how much this fan loves and respects her.
This person commented, agreeing with Valerie and Kelly — asking why people think it’s okay to bully others online.
Some people just have way too much time on their hands, I suppose!
Another fan replied to Kelly’s tweet, summing up what the rest of us are thinking.
We need more Kelly Clarkson types in the world, please and thank you!
This person brought up a very solid point.
I definitely question how social media trolls were raised and why they think cyber-bullying is acceptable.
Some fans mentioned that instead of worrying about what Valerie’s body looks like, we should be focusing on what she’s bringing to the table. Literally.
You don’t watch the Food Network to judge people’s physiques, you watch it for the food . Duh.
This fan brought up something most of us have been taught since we were kids — or at least we should’ve been.
Evidently, not everyone has gotten the memo.
It’s cliché but it’s true! Treat others the way you want to be treated.
And lastly, this fan pointed out the obvious: You can’t please everybody.
There is always going to be someone that has something negative to say.
