15 Things That Make People Irrationally Angry

Maintaining a balanced approach to mental health means allowing your body to express itself and not suppress those emotions which you may deem to be negative β€” such as anger.

By denying ourselves the opportunity to vent, we wind up setting ourselves up for failure. Instead, let's harness that rage and check out these 15 things that make people irrationally angry.

Unsolicited physical contact.

Why is it that some people feel the need to reach out and touch you? I know that it comes from a good place but it's totally misplaced. Oftentimes, a hand on the shoulder just makes me feel 10x worse.

People who claim to know more about a subject than they really do.

"Double unskippable ads."

Is it just me or is this becoming more and more prevalent? I was trying to watch an episode of The Fantasy Footballers podcast on YouTube the other day and I felt like every 2-3 minutes I was watching yet another ad.

"I cannot give blood just because I am gay," explains Reddit user OnasoapboX41. "I have been in a monogamous relationship for the past few years so it is not like STDs are going to randomly spring up."

People who don't use their turn signals in their vehicles.

How many times have you been driving down the road when all of a sudden someone veers into your lane without any indication whatsoever? Redditor waterwheel38 thinks it's not only enraging but also incredibly dangerous as well.

"Daylight savings time," writes Reddit user Representative_Bad57 There is no reason to change times twice a year, every theory about why it’s good has been debunked and I hate it."

The insane amount of preamble attached to all online recipes.

Reddit user thisnoseisokay is sick and tired of seeing a 500-word anecdote every single time they look up a recipe for banana bread. Post the recipe first and if it's good β€” I'll come back to read the inspiration surrounding it.

"When people litter out their car windows. Especially cigarette butts."

I was driving on the highway last weekend and while stopped in traffic, I saw a guy two cars ahead dump out what looked like a mini trash bin all over the road. It was absolutely disgusting.

Conspiracy theorists.

Since the onslaught of the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been no shortage of conspiracy theories or conspiracy theorists.

When speaking specifically to anti-maskers, Redditor Still-Contest-980 said that people should shut up or go home. Keep your opinions to yourself.

Reddit user Scallywagstv2 goes absolutely batty every time they happen to see two people pushing grocery carts stopping to talk to one another.

Can't it wait until you get home? You're literally making it impossible for everyone else to get around you.

When people don't have the good sense to chew with their mouths closed.

"Loud chewing noises," says Reddit user diiejso. "Especially if you're an open-mouthed chewer, double especially if you're also a lip smacker."

This is actually a real condition known as Misophonia.

FaceTiming in public.

I am with you on this one, 1964GamerBro. There's nothing that sets my teeth on edge more than listening to some jackass screaming into their phone.

What's even more infuriating is that every single iPhone comes with a pair of ear pods β€” so use them!

"People who don’t put shopping carts back properly."

This is such a jerk move. It takes literally 30 seconds for you to return the cart to the rack where you found it. Don't make some poor high school student have to run all over the parking lot simply because you're too lazy.

When groups of people walk side-by-side on the sidewalk.

Simple etiquette dictates that if you're in a group walking down the street and you see another pedestrian approaching you β€” start walking in tandem! Reddit user jjtitula says that forcing someone to walk on the grass is just plain rude.
