30 Pictures The Internet Found Fascinating Recently

There are so many fascinating photos out there. The kind that make you think, the kind that look really nice, and even the kind that's just so odd or hilarious that you can't help but look at them.

Whatever the case may be, people seemed to really get a kick out of these photos. And to be honest, I can't blame them.

"An alley in downtown Lincoln, Nebraska."

You have to admit, this alleyway is pretty cool. The neon lights that string through it really help to illuminate all that street art, making the whole thing feel like something out of an urban art exhibit. I imagine it's probably a pretty popular spot for people to take pictures.

This incredible subway station in Sweden.

The T-Centralen Station is part of Sweden's Stockholm Metro. It's just one of multiple stations that have been beautifully decorated. They look like caves, but painted in more modern ways.

Honestly, it'd be worth a trip to Sweden just to pay a visit to these amazing stations.

"Advanced copy of Animal Farm by George Orwell. So cool to see in person!"

George Orwell may be best known for his dystopian novel 1984, but I think Animal Farm is a good contender, too. It's kind of funny looking this decades-old novella's advance copy and seeing the word "confidential," since it's been read millions of times since its release.

"Monarch chrysalis the night before it hatches."

Butterflies are among the most fascinating creatures around. They start out as ugly caterpillars, grow into these hard chrysalises, and then become the beautiful winged creatures we know and love.

Finding a chrysalis seems like it would be hard to do, so let's enjoy this awesome picture of one.

"My mom recently discovered a photo of my great-grandfather's early 1900s Pittsburgh grocery store."

The more things change, the more they stay the same. This grocery store isn't nearly as big as today's supermarkets, but it has a lot of the same stuff. Maybe more cans than anyone knows what to do with, though.

"An origami Samurai I designed and folded over 2 months, from one uncut square of paper."

Every form of art is impressive. There are so many things we can do when we put our minds to it, and if you have the patience and dexterity, you can pull off some amazing things. Like this origami samurai, which looks like it would've been cut a few times, but it isn't!

"Rock climbing under the Milky Way with LEDs tied to my body."

If you're going to rock climb at night, you should probably have some lights with you. And what better lights than ones that are also super pretty, like colorful LEDs?

That helps to make this whole scene beautiful. And the Milky Way behind the cliff is like magic.

A horse within a horse!

This horse has a horse on it! Or rather, part of its hair and mane are shaped like a horse in motion. It's like a horse-ception!

It's always so fascinating when an animal's fur designs have shapes in them, but this is something else! It's just so cool.

"The sign says they have lobster, beer and a puppy."

You know what? If you're into seafood, beer, and petting puppies, then this sounds like a winning combination. This bar seems like it knows how to advertise. I imagine there are a bunch of people out there who would love all three (or at least one of these things).

"I found a pile of snail shells in my car engine."

That's... not something I'd ever expect to find in a car engine. I'm not even sure how a bunch of shells would get in there. Did someone put them there? Are they from a bunch of dead snails? Either way, still pretty fascinating.

"Star Trek super fan spent $300,000 building an exact replica of the 1960s series sets based on original blueprints."

As someone who has seen the original show, this is a pretty good replica of the set. It's all brand-new, and yet it has that vintage vibe, like all these set pieces have been around for years. Amazing!

"Hotel shower has a little hole in the glass to turn the shower on before you get in."

What an interesting idea. Instead of turning on the shower and getting yourself wet before you're ready, or waiting until you're in the shower to turn it on, only to get caught in cold water, you can turn the handle without any hassle. This is such a cool design!

"My anatomy teacher’s bathroom pass is a human leg bone."

The idea of a bathroom pass is kind of weird to me (as an adult), but if I had to use one, I'd want it to be cool. Like this one, that's a leg bone! Is it a real bone? Probably not. But maybe.

"My work ID has been in its plastic holder for so long that it’s imprinted this ghostly image of my face."

Wow, that must have been a super old ID. At that point, you'd probably have to take a new photo. At the very least, I hope this person got a new holder.

It's so cool how photos can do things like this.

"It's 11 pm and the sky looks like it's melting."

Sure, the clouds look super cool. But the way the sky looks kind of bright despite it being 11pm is also really cool (could just be the lighting, though). All in all, I can see why the internet became a bit obsessed with this picture.

"This ball of Babybel wax I have been making."

Ah, I remember trying to do things like this as a kid. Never got a ball of wax this big though. You'd have to go through a lot of cheese to get this much wax. As fascinating as it is, it's also quite impressive.

"Today I learned there are Husky Weiner dogs."

When you think about it, all dog breeds are just different-looking members of the same species. So there's no reason why any two breeds can't, well, breed together. Even a big/medium sized dog and a tiny dog can cross paths and breeds.

But man, this tiny pup is so cute!

"This Californian bristlecone pine tree nicknamed 'Methuselah' was seeded in the year 2833 BC. That makes Methuselah 4,850 years old."

Trees are truly something else. They can live for thousands of years, watch the rise and fall of multiple civilizations and empires, and still stand as tall and strong as ever. Just so cool.

A shell filled with even tinier shells.

The most interesting thing about this image is the fact that the shells are so small! That larger mussel shell isn't even that big to begin with. And coupled with the hand for a size comparison, you just know those seashells are practically microscopic. That's pretty awesome.

"Green Flash from Sunset Cliffs in San Diego."

Whatever lighting effect caused this (not aliens), it looks cool. It has such a subtle, hazy effect on the sky, which stands out because you don't usually see green during a sunset (or ever for that matter). This is definitely one sunset worth remembering

"This message stamped on the squeaker inside the stuffed animal my dog just destroyed."

Some dogs out there are really aggressive with their toys. So I'm guessing some dog owners have a lot of those squeakers they have to get rid of. At least this one was pretty self-aware. And that level of awareness definitely caught the attention of the internet.

"This LEGO head fits perfect on this bath and body works candle holder."

And you know what? The whole thing makes a really awesome display. It's fun and casual, but the LEGO head also looks like it's wearing a little suit, which makes it formal, too. The best of both worlds, really.

Wow, now I want one.

"Found this ‘veiled lady’ mushroom on a hike this morning near Seoul, South Korea."

Fungi are some of the most interesting things out there. Each kind looks so unique and foreign, like something out of an alien movie.

This one doesn't even look like it belongs on this planet. Honestly, how could you not be fascinated?

"This two toned car."

I could never see myself wanting a car like this, but I really appreciate the effort. All in all, it looks super cool! But it would probably really stand out. And who really wants all that attention?

It might be better to just look from afar. Respectfully, of course.

"Lobsterwoman discards lobster that is too small."

I feel like this woman has been working on lobster fishing boats for longer than most of us have been alive. Which is honestly just awesome. She must be, like, the authority on lobster quality. I definitely wouldn't question her skills or expertise.

The other side of the *Price is Right* wheel.

This is, like, a forbidden viewpoint. We definitely weren't meant to see this. And yet, here we are, staring at the back of the wheel from the Price is Right.

It's nothing like I imagined, but I never really imagined much to begin with.

"Backyard before and after since we bought the house! About 1.5 years of yard work later!"

You can tell that a lot of love and care went into this backyard. And it pays off, too! Look at how clear the wooded area is compared to the top picture. It looks like there are a lot of places to explore on this land.

"This 300 ft Wall in Bolivia has over 5000 Dinosaur Footprints."

That's pretty awesome. I wonder how they got the ground that those footprints were on to stay intact while they built the wall. Or, maybe the footprints were caused by some kind of wall-scaling dinosaur.

No, that wouldn't make any sense.

"Asked my wife to take a pic of me petting a Prairie Dog, this happened instead."

I'm not going to lie, I'm kind of obsessed with this. The prairie dog is in the exact right spot, even if it may not be there at the right moment. You kind of have two different pictures going on in the one.

"Soca River in Slovenia. Sometimes the colors seem unreal."

That river looks so much like an ocean. The water is crystal clear, and the exact color you'd see on a beach somewhere in the tropics. It just goes to show you that even freshwater can look this amazing. I'd love to visit this river.
