Freddy Goodall is a name netizens might not forget in a hurry, as it is attached to one of the most intriguing stories online. The young man from Sussex shared his story on social media, which garnered millions of views. According to Freddy, his family had purchased a home built about 500 years before the discovery. For the longest time, they lived on the property, oblivious to any shocking details about it.
The Action That Led To The Discovery
One day, Freddy was going through old pictures of the family home and spotted a doorway in the library, added in the 19th century. However, on that fateful day, he noticed the doorway was nowhere to be found in the room and decided to do some digging. He explained that at first, he couldn’t see anything after searching but later realized the doorway was hidden behind a bookshelf.
Freddy Proceeds To Uncover The Mystery
Next, Freddy proceeded with the digging and finally found a hole that looked into the hidden room behind one of the books. One of the TikTok uploads capturing Freddy’s investigation featured him clearing the books off the shelves and dismantling the wooden pieces. After some time, Freddy unscrewed the wooden panel, moved it away, and to his greatest surprise, there was a dark, empty room .
Freddy Explores The New Discovery
Shortly after discovering the empty room, Freddy noticed another panel on the floor. When he removed it, he found a secret passageway leading to many underground tunnels. To satisfy his curiosity, Freddy decided to explore more. So, he entered the passageway and stumbled into a ladder leading to another room above.
Freddy Discovers Even More Rooms
Without hesitation, Freddy climbed the ladder and was greeted by a larger room filled with cobwebs, dust, and wasps’ nests. Surprisingly, the mystery didn’t stop there, as the large room had steps leading to another passageway. Freddy followed the steps and found himself in the basement, containing more passages and two secret rooms.
More Findings In The 500-Year-Old House
Besides the passages and secret rooms, the property developer discovered a corridor with stairs leading to a blocked exit. There were other hidden crossings and a brick walk with mysterious names and dates written in chalk. In addition to the findings, Freddy also discovered a chest, which looked like it hadn’t been opened in decades.
What Was Inside The Chest?

Upon discovery, Freddy chose to check the chest’s content. So, the young man opened it and found books dating back to the late 1840s, with letters and information about the house. There were also old school books and desks used in the 1900s when the property was an educational institution.
Freddy’s Take On The Discovery
In one of the TikTok clips, Freddy shared his thoughts about his findings. According to him, it was creepy and pitch black at first, but overall, he was thrilled to discover something new in a home he had lived in for years. Freddy also opened up about what he believed the secret passages and rooms were used for.
More On Freddy’s Thoughts
According to him, they were probably servant passages that servants used to access various aspects of the property without being noticed by the landlord. He also pointed out some rooms were used to keep horses. In the end, Freddy said he left the rooms as they were, adding that he liked them as they had history and had been the same for centuries.
