The New IPhone Has Pet Portrait Mode And Our Pups Are Ready For Their Closeup

If you've ever tried to take a picture of your furry friend, you know how much of a struggle this usually turns out to be.

Dogs are naturally restless, curious creatures, so sitting still for anything besides a treat isn't usually something they have much interest in doing.

Personally, I've found the only way to ensure a blur-free snap of my precious pooch is to either keep a cookie right behind the camera lens for him to focus on, or to catch him while he's feeling a little less energetic and can manage to sit for minute.

We all love snapping a sweet pic of our beloved pet every now and then.

These are the loves of our lives, our furry children, our slobbery, barking angels. Of course we want to photograph them and plaster their adorable faces all over our Facebook and Instagram accounts, and maybe even inside a Diply article if you're the writer and spy an opportunity to plug a photo of your handsome boy in the story.

But even if you manage to snap a pic of your pet during a rare moment when they're inactive, you're still usually left with a pretty amateur pic.

Thankfully, Apple has come up with a way to ensure perfect pics of your puppers every time.

According to Popsugar, the brand new iPhone 11 will feature something called pet portrait mode. If you have the X, you'll know its portrait mode has one limitation: it only recognizes human faces.

However, the new iPhone's mode actually recognizes animal features and even enhances them, so now pet selfies are a total possibility! It's not just for dogs either. Now you can take professional-grade photos of your guinea pig, cat, horse ... basically any other pets you might have in need of a good photo shoot.

Here's how it works.

Unlike the other iPhones, the 11 has two massive lenses on the back: one Ultra Wide and one Wide. When combined, these make for the best, most high-quality photos possible, complete with that professional-looking blurry background effect we love.

If you look at that photo above, you'll be able to tell right away it's a fairly amateur photo taken on an equally amateur phone of an above-average doggo on his birthday.

The new iPhone can even snap portrait-mode pics of objects, which other versions of the phone can't.

That's because those archaic models only have one lens, which is just so 2018, guys. It's 2019, and we need two lenses for optimum pet-photographing capabilities!

The future is now!
