When you stumble across something new and unique, two urges can arise in you. One is to keep that thing hidden, a secret to call your very own. The other is to share it with others so that they, too, can enjoy your discovery.
I’m more of a fan of the latter, as it allows more people to feel your same joy. The people featured in this list agree as they show off their own silly secrets the world ought to know about.

I used to work somewhere that used these bags, and they are awful. Notice how they’re all torn into differently? That’s because the ‘perforation’ didn’t work unless you were willing to break a finger trying to punch through it, so we’d all just claw at them any way that would get them open. Hellish.
“I scored 2 of the 3.25lb Reese’s Cup pies at Thanksgiving. Biggest they’ve ever made & they only made 3000 of them.”
I was about to criticize this person for buying two and then not eating them, as they were clearly meant to be enjoyed, but they said in the comments that they were saving these peanut butter treats for birthdays. That’s respectable.
“My local grocery store has a pretty decent lava lamp section.”
Not the place you would expect to have a sizeable selection of lava lamps, but it truly is the most convenient. You can buy all the ingredients you need for dinner, and then some mood lighting to enjoy your dinner in.
“My eye doctor has a lemon plant in the waiting room.”
That’s in case any of the patients in the waiting room are feeling peckish. They can relax in those unbelievably comfy-looking chairs, snag a lemon off the tree, and munch away while the secretary watches them with a concerned expression.

“This multimillion dollar hospital lab I work in with huge analyzers and new equipment manufactured months ago has a tape dispenser from 1960-1970 held up by a toothpick/stir stick.”
At this point, you’re all just keeping it around out of spite, aren’t you?

I shouldn’t be surprised by anything I hear on the internet these days, but this one still got me. Hearing about uncommon collections, especially if those collections have thriving communities, is always a delight. Look at how gorgeous these are, too!

The inner conflict I would feel staring at this, knowing I need to take my meds, but not wanting to disturb the rare and delicate balance displayed here. Could I cut a hole in the bottom of the bottle and take those instead?
“What 10 years of wear does on red vans vs 10 days.”
Ten years? I can’t imagine even hanging onto a pair of shoes for that long, let alone wearing them the entire time. Especially with how many holes that pair on the left is rocking, I would have given up ages sooner.
“Taco Tuesday.”
They saw their opportunity and took it, which is always admirable, especially in the case of license plates which require a real monetary investment. Hopefully this person will only ever be driving Tacomas forever though, lest their Tuesday be taco-less.

So what do all the other birds see when I’m out on the town in my blue jacket? Are they just seeing gray? Black? A different color entirely? Can they see right through me?

Someone in the comments mentioned that this is likely due to some local ordinance that requires it to blend in with the other buildings in that area, but there’s no denying that it also makes this particular 7-11 look much fancier.

Awww. Alright, I’ll admit it, I’m a lot more comfortable being watched at all times if the thing watching me is a cute little panda! Come on, how can you deny those big ol’ eyes?

Would I be so foolish as to book a vacation somewhere just so I can buy some branded cookie dough bites? Yes. Do I have a tab open on my computer right now looking at flight prices for Belgium? Also yes.
“Hearse with license plate that reads ‘1WY TCKT’.”
Much like the other vanity plate from earlier, this one is fantastic, and a wonderful opportunity taken by a clever hearse owner. Though, I have to give even more kudos to this one, as they put in the effort to make it seem more like a regular plate. It’s subtle, tasteful.
“This barber in my town also sells homemade pickles.”
He’s just a smart businessman. There’s nothing wrong with running two businesses at once, but merging them together into one business with a lot of variety is probably much easier.
Besides, snacking on a pickle while getting your hair done sounds great.
“One of my neighbors replaced their grass with fake grass.”
What surprised me even more than this picture were all the people in the comments saying it was relatively common for their area. One even said that it was likely popular in “most of the American South West”, which makes sense, I had just never considered it before.
“This airport has a recombobulation area. First time I have ever seen this word used.”
If you don’t know, to recombobulate is to put things back in order or to remove confusion. Basically, getting yourself together. I could see why an airport of all places would want an area like this, as they’re chaos incarnate.
“Maple Joe got a beard trim.”
There’s nothing wrong with cleaning up the edges! Like the rest of their packaging, it looks like he was going for a more modern look, and I think it’s fair to say he succeeded. Not sure I would have noticed that at first, but I bet we’ll see people thirsting over him in no time.
“You can tell which bottle of Gatorade is cold by the color.”
This is a much better system than grabbing the top half and grimacing at every one that isn’t cold enough for your taste. With this method, you can have some peace of mind knowing that your drink will be the perfect level of chilled upon opening.
“A quarter that I found underneath the agitator in my washing machine while cleaning it out. Been rubbed smooth after many wash cycles.”
Keep it in there for a while longer and you’ll come away with a completely smooth disk! I have no idea what you would do with that besides marvel at it for a few seconds, but it’d still be pretty cool!
