Because Nothing Is Sacred, Now People Are Making Watermelon Pizza

Experimenting is a great way to discover new things that you otherwise could have never thought of. When it comes to food, people are constantly adding things together and mixing them up, despite the fact that some things don't really belong together.

On one hand, some of the best combinations are found and discovered this way. However, other times, combos just don't belong together at all.

Instagram and TikTok have truly given us some combos we just never needed.

From Nutella on spaghetti to mac and cheese ice cream, there are a lot of combinations that are gross, unneeded, and enough to make us wish we were never born into this world.

For some reason, people want to go viral, even if it's disgusting in the process.

While we respect everyone's taste, some things just confuse us.

In a world where everyone has the freedom to make anything they want in their own kitchen—some things should stay there, in their own kitchen.

Instead, we get to see these videos all over our feeds, and truly some of them make us gag a bit.

Oli Paterson is one chef that thinks out of the box a lot.

On his Instagram page, he showcases some of the combinations he has made over the years. Some of them are amazing discoveries that we can't wait to try out ourselves. Other times, they are a bit questionable and kind of wild.

Paterson went viral on TikTok for his "famous watermelon pizza."

The pizza is pretty simple to make—if you are someone who likes the whole fruit pizza combo—as long as you have the ingredients you need.

Grab yourself a big ol' watermelon and a cast iron griddle, some sauce, cheese, and pepperoni.

He grills the watermelon on both sides on the cast iron grill and then, while still on the grill, sauces, cheeses, and throws on pepperoni.

He then puts it in the oven to cook and melt the cheese and heat the sauce.

The video went so viral, that Domino's even picked up on it.

Domino's Australia made their own watermelon pizza, showcasing that "they finally found a low-carb crust option" for their pizza. They gave Paterson a shout-out on their Instagram page, too.

However, not everyone was on the train for the watermelon pizza.

Many people were grossed out by this combination.

Many people said that the video of watermelon pizza "feels illegal" and to be honest, it truly should be. Others showcased that they want to "throw up," while others begged them to stop combining things and ruining everything for us all.

There are people, however, who have been making watermelon pizza that we would truly try.

On Instagram, there are some foodies that have made their own "watermelon pizza" in ways that we would be interested in trying.

Like, a watermelon pizza with some Greek yogurt and berries—that is a pizza I would get behind and try.

Other made it "Italian" in their own way.

Keeping it with the actual "pizza" style, this Instagram foodie went with basil, crumbled cheese, nuts, and a balsamic glaze. This is kind of like a watermelon salad feel—which I'll totally try.

Just keep the sauce and the pepperoni off my watermelon!
