Some celebrities have certain parts of their looks basically trademarked. For many, this trademark style has to do with their hair (or in Stanley Tucci's case, lack of it!) and when they change up that part of themselves, it's hard to recognize them at all.
Fans of Zooey Deschanel have been reminded of this pretty powerfully on Instagram.
The New Girl star is famous for a lot of things: those big baby blue eyes, that cool and unique voice, and perhaps most importantly, the ICONIC blunt bangs she's been rocking for most of her career.
Zooey shared this selfie to her Instagram page, and immediately the comments blew up with people surprised to see this side of Zooey.
"WHO'S THAT GIRL?" one fan wrote, referencing the theme song for New Girl.
"I did not recognize that this was Zooey Deschanel until I looked at the username..." another fan shared, while yet another commented, "You could’ve had a tattoo up there for all these years and we wouldn’t have known!"
Some fans, however, were ecstatic, with one writing, "YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH IVE WANTED TO SEE YOU WITHOUT BANGS AGAIN JUST ONCE THANK YOU!"
