This Fan Theory Has Us Convinced That Sansa Is Going To Die In 'Game Of Thrones’

Last night we all tuned into the eighth and final season of Game Of Thrones.

It was absolutely gutting to know that that was the last time we'll get to watch the first episode of a new season ever again. But we're also so excited to find out how everything wraps up.

We're gonna need the closure.

Spoilers ahead. Don't say I didn't warn you!

In the season eight trailer that was released back in January, we were given a glimpse into what the future holds for the whole "Game Of Thrones" gang.

Thrillest

It showed Jon Snow, Sansa, and Arya in the crypts of Winterfell, surrounded by statues of their dead relatives.

Sansa and Arya’s mom's statue is shown, along with a voice saying "All this horror that has come to my family".

Winter Is Coming

Which is obviously creepy. But then things get even more intense — like that's even possible.

Jon, Sansa, and Arya turn around, and to our surprise, their own statues are standing before them.

The foreshadowing here is an obvious reality that I'm not quite ready to face just yet.

The statues could simply mean that they're going to die eventually — which is everyone's inevitable doom.

But there is an alternative theory that fans have cooked up that is way more interesting than that.

Eagle-eyed fans noticed that Sansa and Arya’s statues look different than Jon’s.

If you squint your eyes and take out your magnifying glass, you can see that Sansa and Arya's statues both look the same age as they are now, while Jon's looks like a much older version of himself.

This could either mean that Sansa and Arya eventually discover Botox and anti aging serums, or that they die young.

At least we know Jon is hopefully going to live on for a while.

But we also know this could mean the end of the road is fast approaching for the Stark sisters.

Just in case this hasn't already deeply disturbed you enough, there's more.

Glamour

Fans on Reddit think the way Sansa greets Daenerys in the trailer is a reflection of how Ned Stark greeted Robert Baratheon when he came to Winterfell in season one.

Remember in season one when Robert came onto the scene — Ned told him “Winterfell is yours"?

Then, a hot minute later, Ned was beheaded.

Things slowly and gently began to spiral for the Stark family ever since.

When Sansa greets Daenerys in season eight, Daenerys says: “Winterfell is yours, Your Grace".

HBO

Those words being said don't exactly have the best track record...

(nervous laughter).

Basically, there's been a ton of foreshadowing that Sansa is going to be the next fly to drop.

HBO

Which would be devastating since she's clearly earned her right to the throne after everything she's been through.

At the very least, throne aside, she deserves to live to tell the tale!

"Game Of Thrones" fans are already planning to "riot" if either Sansa or Arya die this season.

And I will, without a doubt, be joining them. Period.

This person truly doesn't think there is any chance in hell of Sansa or Arya dying this season.

Let's hope you're right about that, fellow GOT fan. Let's hope you're right...

Some, more savage, fans are actually hoping that Arya dies.

This person doesn't think that the show actually has a use for her character anymore. They want her to "kick rocks".

That's cold.

So, yeah, sorry I just ruined your day.

We Heart It

I know this probably wasn't what you wanted to hear, especially on a Monday of all days.

But this is a plausible outcome that we have to emotionally prepare ourselves to weather.

Do you agree with the recent fan theories? Is the end near for Sansa or Arya? Or both?
