Hair is a pretty prized thing, and messing with it can be traumatic for a lot of people. That’s why we trust the professionals with it, right?

Well, that’s not the case here, that’s for sure.
So, what’s the worst thing that ever happened to you in a salon?
That’s the question posed by TikTok user @athenasworld444, who encouraged people to duet or stitch their prompt with their own insane stories.
TikTok user CB (aka @thatkfcgirl, one of the best online names I’ve ever heard) duetted the prompt with her own story, and it is wild.
Get ready for this.
“I will never forget this. Okay, so, after I had, like, a breakdown for probably no reason at all, I cut all my hair off. And I hated it,” CB explained.
We’ve all made questionable hair decisions when feeling emotional. I get it.
Luckily, she found a hairdresser who wanted to help.
“And this hairdresser was like, ‘Yeah, I can put hair extensions in and I’ll be able to blend it.’
And I’m like, ‘Are you sure?’ Because it was cut like pretty straight across.”
The hairdresser reassured her that she could absolutely do the job. She told CB that she had her back.
Well, that was a lie.
“This is what she let me walk out with. That. She didn’t even show me the back, mind you.”
I’m gonna be honest, this is one of the worst extension jobs I’ve ever seen, and I write about hair fails for a living.
Thankfully, someone noticed before she got too far from the salon.
“I got in the car, and my ex-partner was like, ‘Have you seen the back?!’ Thank god he was honest, because I would have left like this.”
I can’t imagine walking around with hair like that. You KNOW people would be talking behind your back.
She went back inside the salon.
“I went back in, and she charged me to take them out. So not only did I have to pay for the extensions, pay for the hair, and pay to get them taken out. Because she thought I could walk around like that.”
Commenters were shocked.
I totally get feeling too nervous to say something, and I imagine the situation was already so awkward that not paying was not much of an option. But god, it was not fair that she had to pay at all!
Other users shared their own hair horror stories.
I cannot imagine sitting down in that salon chair and watching my hair turn black! How does something like that even happen?
Now that’s something not worth paying for. I would be infuriated.
