You’ll be on time, bring a gift, and not invite extra guests. You will also NOT wear white , as this will take attention away from the bride on her special day.

Just wait until you read some of these stories of monsters-in-laws from the internet. Like this one story from a Redditor who said that her mother-in-law demanded all of her son’s attention during his wedding.
She does know that he married his wife and not her, right?
Just making sure.
According to the Redditor, the mother even tried to steal her son away from his wedding night. “Around 10 PM, our room phone rings,” the bride began.
“It’s my MIL, demanding that my brand-new husband come down to the lobby and watch a fire-eating performance or some [expletive] with his mom.”
“Because ‘I’m leaving tomorrow, and I think it’s very selfish of you not to spend time with me tonight.’”
“My husband explained that it was his wedding night, and he wanted to spend it with his wife.”
This prompted the mother to snap and say, “oh, give me a break. It’s not like tonight is extra special. We all know [the Redditor] is no virgin.’”
Um, YIKES.
Another story involved the mother-in-law stealing the attention away from the bride. “Mother of the groom showed up in white. Bride took her shopping weeks before and thought they had found a blue dress that made the MOG look beautiful,” this Redditor wrote .
“I wish to this day I had thought to spill my wine on her and force her to change.”
Sadly, that mother-in-law wasn’t the only one to try and upstage the bride. This next story will likely have you seeing red.
On Redditor, someone found an advertisement from a mother-in-law who wanted to sell her “mother of the groom dress.”
But this was no ordinary mother of the groom’s dress . This looked just like a wedding dress, complete with white lace and a long train!
The internet was baffled at her outfit, which she claimed she had “only worn for a few hours.”
“When I first looked at the picture I thought: ‘Why are we shaming this? That’s a lovely wedding dress,” one Redditor shared. “Then I read ‘mother of the groom dress’. That is so inappropriate to wear to your son’s wedding.”
If you look closely, even the woman’s nails are white.
She came to play! “MILs wearing wedding dresses to their sons’ weddings is borderline incestuous,” another Redditor wrote, with many saying that it’s basically showing up to marry your own son.
Now, it’s not entirely taboo to wear white to a wedding.
Some brides even ask their bridal party and guests to wear white to fit a black and white theme. And some guests can get away with an off-white dress.
The problem with this mother-in-law’s dress is that it is STRAIGHT UP a wedding dress.
“Normally I find the whole ‘anyone who wears a vaguely whiteish dress to someone else’s wedding deserves to die’ thing fairly ridiculous, but… that’s a bridal gown,” another user commented.
Yeah, we don’t think any other mothers will be buying her dress. A bride-to-be, maybe?
