Food has become a source of controversy at many weddings.
There have been nightmare stories of couples not feeding their guests (if this happens, we’ll take back our toaster, thankyouverymuch) and drunken people falling into the expensive 12-tiered cake.

This next story involves a vegan wedding . A woman has the internet split after she gasp brought eggs to a vegan wedding.
This woman in question brought her dilemma to the “Am I The Asshole” community on Reddit.
The 21-year-old recently attended her older brother’s wedding . Since his bride has been vegan since she was 12 and the brother converted to the lifestyle in recent years, they decided to make the wedding vegan.
Basically, this meant that all of the food and alcohol were vegan.
The wedding was also made as eco-friendly as possible, with things like petals from their garden instead of plastic confetti.
The Redditor had no problem with this and even thought that it was great.
The problem came with their eating habits.
They are allergic to peanuts, soy, and sesame, and have a mild shellfish allergy. “The first 3 I named are very serious and have landed me in hospital in the past became of cross-contamination, so I’m really weary,” they wrote.
Before the wedding, they talked to their brother to ask if there would be anything safe for them to eat.
They were a bit wary as the couple hadn’t hired a professional catering company. “It felt too risky, so I said I’d bring my own food and he agreed that was the best option,” they wrote.
“I’ve done this with plenty of such events in the past and it’s never been a problem,” they continued.
But when it came to the wedding day and the wedding meal, everything went wrong. It all started when the Redditor pulled out their Tupperware and saw the bride staring at them with horror.
“I had bought a homemade sort of salad box which had 2 eggs on top.”
“And she literally just stared at me in disgust the entire time we ate without saying anything,” she continued. After the meal was finished, the bride pulled her aside.
She said, “I ‘ruined her meal and her appetite’ and ‘ruined her day’ and that I’m clearly ‘a selfish person because I can’t even go one meal without animal secretions in a vegan wedding.'”
Yikes! She also said, “that it was seriously disrespectful because the fact it was a vegan wedding was the main focus.”
From the Redditor’s standpoint, they believe that they didn’t do anything wrong.
“I bought my own food because they weren’t able to provide me with something which was safe to eat, and it’s not like I brought a steak,” they argued.
“I had two eggs in a big salad and she must have been specifically staring at my food to even realize they were there,” they continued.
However, judging by the bride’s horrified reaction and her brother saying that her meal was in poor taste, they’re wondering if they did, in fact, mess up.
Thankfully, Reddit was the perfect soundboard for this.
Many sided with the Redditor. “While I understand having dietary restrictions and it being her day…You have unavoidable dietary restrictions, in that you are severely allergic to some foods, some of which were listed in the ingredients,” one Redditor wrote.
“Your brother seems like he dropped the ball, though,” another added. “His wife seems pretty overbearing and he should have spoken up.”
Many were also upset that vegan food was the wedding’s main focus and not the love and commitment between two people. “She’s an ass for that comment alone,” a Redditor shared.
