Buh…I hate this mentality. You *know* life is hard. You’re living a hard life, and life is only going to get harder going forward with all the shit happening to the planet and in society, and yet you’re like, ‘My child deserves a chance to live!’ in a world where they’ll probably never be able to afford a home or basic health care, where kids like you and even adult fucking women get pregnant and screamed at because abortion is murder but WiC is a handout so lets choke the funding on that because people need to pull themselves up by their fuckin bootstraps! Where the job market is uncertain, even if you *have* a college degree. And even if you have a job companies don’t give a shit about you, they only care about their bottom line and robots and algorithms can and will replace you.
Life is shit and no one deserves to be subjected to it, none of us are here by our own choice but by the selfish decisions of the parents who bore us.
You’re NTA, I’m not saying you are. I’m saying that I wish people would stop rationalising having children as being some kind of selfless gift. It’s not, Life is inherently selfish. You rationalising that you can give your child a better life and that that is somehow a gift *is selfish*. What you’re actually doing is pinning your wishes and hopes that you had had a better life with more options on this child and giving birth to it and sending it off into the world so you can live vicariously through it.
Do yourself a favour once you have and adopt out this child. Fight to make *your own life* better. Get better grades, get scholarships, apply for grants, go to college. Stop having unprotected sex, stop dating boys who only think with their dicks. Fight your own fight and struggle your own struggle. Don’t watch your kid do it and dream that it was you…
