I’ve already mentioned to you that I wish I had better sewing skills . Honestly, I can barely fix a hole in my socks, much less repair anything more major in my clothing .
That’s why I’m always in awe of people who can make miracles happen by fixing their own garments . After all, if you have the skills, then why not? That’s one less piece of clothing saved from the landfill, no?
1. This Knee Repair Job
What is it with denim and worn-out knees, huh? Why does that always happen? Well, if you have this problem too, here’s a little inspiration for you. I actually like this mending job a lot.
2. This Elaborate Mending Design
This lady got a small spot on her shirt, so she thought she could mend it. The thing is, she got very inspired and went to town with it. I think this piece looks even better now, no?
3. This Shirt Fix
I’m starting to notice a pattern here. It seems a lot of people end up fixing tears with embroidery. Now that I see it, it makes total sense to me, and I wish I could do it myself.
4. This Beautiful Job
I hope you’ll believe me when I tell you this was somebody’s first time doing some denim mending. To say that I’m impressed here would be quite an understatement. Can they mend all my jeans this way, please?
5. This Riding Glove Fix
I really should get myself some biking gloves. From the looks of it, this person really put theirs to work. I’m glad to see that they were able to do a pinky patch like this one, though.
6. This Shoe Fix
It must really s**k when you get a hole in your favorite running shoe, huh? Well, if that ever happens to you, know that there is something you can do. This lady embroidered the cutest flower, and now they’re good to go.
7. This Cute Patch
If your kid had a hole in their favorite leggings, they would be really upset if you tried to throw them away. Well, this lady wasn’t going to do that to her kid, so instead, she patched it with a cute felt leaf.
8. This Denim Patch
Honestly, if I were able to mend my denim clothes like this, I wouldn’t have to worry about getting any holes. I think these jeans look even better than before. What do you think? Do you agree?
9. This Jacket Fix
I don’t know about you, but who wouldn’t love to have a big bright sun on the sleeve or their jacket, huh? I don’t even consider this a repair. For me, this is more of an embellishment job.
10. This Amateur Darning Effort
You better believe it, but this was somebody’s first crack at darning as a sleeve. I think they did quite a good job here, no? The patch job blends in with the rest of this plaid shirt very well indeed.
11. This Talented Patcher
So get this, apparently, this talented lady likes to sew what she calls “stupid things” onto her boyfriend’s clothes. OMG, I would definitely take more credit for the magic she creates here. Ha, ha, I love these!
12. This Fraying Fix
Fraying can be so annoying. Do you know what I’m saying? So this person had enough and knew they had to do something about it. And, so they came up with the most logical fix. It looks good, no?
13. This Sock Patch
If you can believe it, somebody actually used a sock to fix this ripped knee in denim pants. What a great idea, huh? I have to admit I would never have thought of it. This is totally genius, ha, ha!
14. This Happy Accident
When you spill pink nail polish on your favorite yellow sweater, it’s not exactly a good day. But instead of crying, this lady covered it up with the prettiest embroidery. Wow, I have to admit I’m pretty impressed.
15. This Boot Fix
This person’s zipper broke, so they knew they had their work cut out for them. But while they were on it, they decided to add a little flair to the boots too. Don’t they look so rad here?
It’s amazing what people can do with a needle and a thread, huh?
I’m thoroughly impressed by all these mending jobs here. It even inspired me to tackle one of my own one of these days. How about you? Are you good at sewing or not?
