Food can be weirdly personal . What one person hates to eat, might be something someone else enjoys every chance they can get. And there are some people out there eating stuff we’d never even think to try .
Like these people from Reddit, who shared the kind of food they love that also garners them a weird look or two from time to time.
“Dark peppermint chocolate eaten with salt and vinegar potato chips.” – michaeldaph

“Making sure you have a bit of each in your mouth at the same time.”
Sweet and salty generally works, but adding mint to the mix? Must be an acquired taste.
“Anytime we have a fire my girlfriend fills marshmallows with yellow mustard and then burns the [expletive] out of them.” – Breaks***e

Of all the things you could put on/in a marshmallow, I genuinely wouldn’t have expected yellow mustard.
“Mashed potatoes. Sunny side up runny eggs.” – ikogut

“Flip the egg over onto the potatoes. My comfort food. My boyfriend thinks I’m crazy whenever I make it with leftover mashed potatoes.”
That sounds… kind of good, actually.
“When I was a kid I used to melt mozzarella cheese sticks or shredded mozzarella in the microwave, sprinkle cinnamon on it, and eat the resulting gooey mass with a fork.” – sucrosecookie

“Something about the mild dairy flavor and the cinnamon was just really good?”
“Microwaving the [expletive] out of marshmallows they end up chewy and sometimes crunchy after they cool off. Peeps are the best.” – FartPie

Is this actually a weird snack? Because I genuinely used to do this all the time as a kid.
“BLT but instead of tomatoes I occasionally use ketchup.” – Key_Description_1661

“My husband thinks I’m a weirdo but sometimes I just crave it. We even have fresh grown tomatoes but sometimes I want what I want.”
“A slide of cheddar cheese and a raw onion.” – Nurse49

“It’s murder on your breath so I have to save it for when I’m off work and not wearing mask otherwise I’m tearing up all day. But super yummy, creamy cheese with a snap of onion, perfection.”
If it were cooked onions, that’d be a whole different story.
“Leftover pizza, cold, with yellow mustard. I almost prefer it over fresh, hot pizza.” – lonelierthangod

I won’t argue about cold pizza, but the mustard part is really throwing me off. Like, all power to you if you’re into that, but man is it ever weird.
“Tuna salad on toasted cinnamon raisin bagel.” – treeofpagoda

It seems like this user has a kindred spirit, as someone else replied: “Wow. I do tuna with mayo and some ranch powder on cinnamon bread. So good. Never heard of another who likes similar.”
“Cottage cheese, mashed with a fork, mix with vanilla, cinnamon and a sprinkle of sugar. Spread on toast, top with more cinnamon, stick under broiler for just a minute.” – ElenasGrandma

“Grandma called it a cheese Danish. She and I are the only ones who ever ate it, and now it’s just me. Hubby and kids think it’s disgusting.”
To be fair, cottage cheese is just a polarizing food in general.
“Frozen peas. Eaten with your fingers out of a glass.” – MissHBee

Peas are great. Frozen peas, though? Definitely seems like a weird thing to eat by themselves, out of a glass, with nothing else. At the very least, it seems very cold.
“Baby carrots and peanut butter.” – barryandorlevon

“It’s so good! The carrots are sweet and have a high enough water content to help break thru the peanut butter. Perfect snack, in my opinion.”
I could almost be convinced to try this. Almost.
“Banana and mayonnaise sandwich.” – Mcj1972

Another user added, “The ‘and mayonnaise’ bit makes it sound way more strange and disgusting than it actually is. I grew up calling these ‘banana sandwiches’ just because the mayo should be a given.” Where in the world is this a thing?
“Mac ‘n’ cheese topped with apple sauce.” – sixacorns

“Something about the hot and cold contrast as well as the salty/ creamy and sweet/smooth contrast. Idk, it just works for me. I’ve been eating it this way since I was a child.”
“Raw oatmeal. Sometimes with apple, but mostly plain.” – riverrocks452

Another user agreed, saying, “I love raw oatmeal with milk. I add a small splash of vanilla extract, sugar, and cinnamon. So yummy.”
That’s… interesting, to say the least.
“I used to eat chicken nuggets dipped in vanilla milkshakes.” – Sugary_Cutie

“I loved it. Yet I hate fries dipped in milkshakes with a fiery passion. I can’t eat any one of any of these anymore but I still like the taste.”
“Cream soup mushroom chicken whatever dumped over sliced hardboiled eggs on toast preferably wheat. Also add an unreasonable amount of paprika.” – SternLecture

This is honestly such a random combination of things in one dish, but I can’t say it’d be that bad…
“I like to snack on Better Than Bouillon.” – -__Doc__-

“I stick my finger in the jar and scrape most off, then lick my finger like a lollipop. I do this a couple times a week.”
“Sour cream on pizza.” – murdermouf

“I don’t get the ranch on pizza. Unless it’s BBQ pizza. Too much. Sour cream on pizza is amazing and I grew up eating it. Had no idea it was weird until I showed someone outside my immediate family.”
“Cheez-Its and orange juice.” – awisewoman6852

“Eat a few Cheez-Its and follow them with an orange juice chaser. Sweet and salty. Yum!!”
Most of these foods are weird but possibly worth trying. This one, though, is genuinely terrifying.
