Katy’s getting ready for her big space moment. She’s in the final stretch now, about to join an all-women crew for a space launch!
The STAR is about to go into space

The pop star said she’s gonna put “the ‘ass’ in astronaut” in just a few hours.
The mission includes a historic all-female crew

This crew is kind of a big deal: Katy Perry, ex-NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe, civil rights champ Amanda Nguyen, film producer Kerianne Flynn, and journalist Lauren Sanchez. They squeezed in some last-minute astronaut training down in Texas on Sunday. It’s actually the first time in over 60 years that it’s an all-women mission.
The ladies are all wearing custom blue jumpsuits

Katy dropped a few pics, too. In one of them, she’s with Lauren Sanchez, both rocking these custom blue jumpsuits. Turns out, Lauren had them made just for the mission.
She had a lot to say about this trip to her Instagram followers
In a video she posted, she talks about how she’s “always looking for little confirmations from the heavens, from my guides, from my angels, from my higher self.” She added, “When I’m looking for it, it’s pretty loud.”
The singer is doing all this to inspire young girls to dream big
Katy told the Associated Press that she’s doing this for more than just the thrill. She wants to be bold and hopefully spark something in the next generation.
“I keep telling myself, like, ‘You’re brave, you’re bold, and you’re doing this to inspire so many people,’” she said. “Especially young girls, so they can think, ‘Yeah, I’ll go to space one day. Why not?’ No limits.”
The flight is scheduled for TODAY!

Blue Origin’s Flight NS-31 is officially happening on April 14. It’s actually the first time there’s been an all-women crew since way back in 1963, when Valentina Tereshkova went to space solo.
The rocket — funded by Jeff Bezos — is supposed to take off at 8:30am local time.
The whole thing is pretty quick. They’ll be up there for about four minutes, then float back down. The full ride takes just a bit over 10 minutes. Blink and you’ll miss it.
Perry connects the mission to her childhood nicknames
She explained, “When I got invited to join this mission, I looked up the capsule. Right on the front, there’s this shape that looks like a feather, and I swear, it was like a sign. My mom’s always called me ‘feather.’”
She believes there are no coincidences

Katy’s pretty firm on this one: “There are no coincidences,” she said. “I’m just so thankful for these little signs, and I’m just grateful that it feels like something bigger than me is guiding all of this.”
It marks the 11th human flight for Blue Origin

This is actually the 11th human flight for Blue Origin. The program’s been taking people to space since 2021, including none other than the company’s own billionaire, Jeff Bezos.
