As people get older, they oftentimes tend to need some help with things in their day-to-day lives.
From every day activities to meals and cleaning, many older people end up in assisted living facilities and nursing homes to ensure their health and safety. Staff members there are able to help them every day with things that they need, and also assure their health and overall safety.

Some assisted living places try to keep the fun alive for their members.
Sometimes, people who are in nursing homes and assisted living facilities can feel bad because they feel “old” and sometimes unhappy about it.
Many times these places look for fun and exciting activities to keep member’s spirits high and big smiles on their faces.
Like the time Matthew McConaughey hosted a virtual bingo night for seniors at the Enclave at Round Rock Senior Living in Texas.
Residents of The Enclave requested that Matthew join them for bingo, and believe it or not, the actor actually came through.
Matthew couldn’t make it in person but came through in a videochat.
“During a time when we are all working to make lemonade out of lemons, we are so humbled that Matthew took the time to play our favorite game with us. As Matthew would say, let’s turn this red light into a green light,” wrote the Enclave on Facebook.
They also thanked Matthew’s family, who were all present with the actor.
“Thank you to Matthew, his wife Camila, and his mom Kay for hosting our residents for a few rounds of virtual bingo! Our residents had a great time playing, and they loved talking with Matthew about his family heritage and his favorite drink,” they wrote.
Matthew seems like he’s a natural at bingo-calling, so if he ever gets bored of acting, there’s another career waiting for him right here!
But now that summer is here, it’s time for seniors to step out of their rooms and get some sun.
But it’s important for them to cool down in the heat too!
Recently, one facility shared some videos of their creation for seniors and it’s going viral.
The TikTok channel @camelliaplace shares videos of activities that they host for seniors to keep their spirits up.
The latest video that has gone viral showcases how they created a “slip and slide” for the elderly. People are loving it!
They used a huge water slide and a big tube.
Using the water slide, like an actual slip and slide, they decided to keep the laughs big and the heat down by using a pool tube to pull the seniors down the slip and slide mat.
The video looks so much fun!
People on TikTok were obsessed with the idea.
Many TikTok users commented on the video saying they wanted to try it with their own family members. Also, many people commented thanking the facility for “caring for residents” and making it fun for them, too.
Even we want to try this out!
