When I was in school, I usually kept my head down and just focused on what we were supposed to do that day.
This not only resulted in fewer problems with teachers, but it sometimes meant that I could get all my homework done before I actually went home so I could clear away as much time for video games as possible.
However, even I was well aware of how boring school was. So when another kid decided to make a scene, I usually treated it as a welcome break from the monotony.
However, one case from Miami proves it doesn’t often pay to be the kid who provided so much entertainment.
Before the incident on Wednesday, 18-year-old Gianny Sosa had a pretty good rapport with his principal.

(Neither of them are pictured here.)
As NBC 6 reported , Sosa said that the two had joked with each other before.
And according to him, that’s all that was going on when he put an arm around principal Humberto Miret’s neck in the hallway.

However, the sudden contact and the fact that he said “RKO” as he did it clearly led the principal to think Sosa had more sinister intentions.
For those who are unaware, the RKO is the signature move of WWE superstar Randy Orton.
Here we can see the man himself demonstrating it. For his part, Sosa barely got as far as the initial neck grab before things went bad.
As soon as Sosa made contact, Miret pulled the student’s arm away before putting him into a headlock.

According to NBC6, Sosa said that he had never intended to hurt anybody. However, if that was the case, the situation escalated before he had a chance to make that clear.
Immediately after the stunt, Miret pulled Sosa into a private classroom and it’s hard to tell what happened in there.

As Sosa tells it, “I understand he had to use some force cause he might be worried, but the situation escalated when he took me into a private classroom with no cameras and continued to use force.”
Since there were no cameras, Sosa decided to take a video with his phone.

In it, Miret can be seen talking into a radio and summoning security.
As NBC6 reported , multiple school administrators and security personal responded to the call and considered Sosa uncooperative.
Although it’s unclear what force Miret supposedly used in the classroom, Sosa stated his reason for taking the video.

Throughout his clip, Sosa kept saying, “Now that I’m recording, you don’t want to touch me.”
Nonetheless, Sosa was arrested and booked into jail.
By Friday morning, Sosa was released on a $750 bond.

As the court discussed what an RKO is and the differences between Greco-Roman style wrestling and professional wrestling, Sosa’s family spoke on his behalf, saying it was a joke gone wrong.
As his sister, Camila, said, “He did tell all of us he was just going to hug the principal. He wasn’t going to harm him in any way and if he really wanted to harm the principal in any way he would have to do the RKO move from a distance. Like, you just can’t walk up to somebody and grab him by the neck and drop him.”
