Back in the early ’00s, Hayden Panettiere was a rising star in Hollywood . She seemed poised to become Hollywood’s next leading lady and looked to have a bright future on the horizon.
Unfortunately, Hayden’s aspirations were rocked by drug and alcohol addiction . It got so bad that she was forced to sign over full custody of her daughter, whom she now claims has begun calling other women “mommy. “
Few things in life are messier than breakups.

The ending of a relationship is hard on everyone and it, unfortunately, has an ugly habit of bringing out the worst in people — especially when kids have entered into the equation.
This is an ugly truth that actress Hayden Panettiere knows all too well.

For those who may not know, Hayden was involved in a long-term on-again/off-again relationship with boxing’s former Heavyweight Champion, Wladimir Klitschko. Together, they share one child, a daughter named Kaya.
The better part of the last decade has been a struggle for the once-prominent actress.

Amid a myriad of substance abuse issues, Hayden signed over full custody of her daughter to her now ex-partner, Klitschko. Hayden is now asserting that Wladimir is refusing to let her see her daughter.
The trouble all started when Wladimir took Kaya on a trip to Ukraine and never returned.

Hayden recently sat down with Jada Pinkett Smith for a brand new episode of Red Table Talk , wherein she explained that her decision to sign over custody had been coerced.
“It wasn’t fully my decision. In fact, I didn’t even know it was happening until she was already over there,” Hayden explained.

Hayden explained that her and Wladimir’s arrangement was that she would take time to work on herself and once she got better, Kaya would return home.
Despite the fact that Hayden is now sober, Wladimir is refusing to let their 7-year-old daughter travel to the States.

The only way that Hayden has been able to see Kaya in the past five years has been to travel to Ukraine herself — a trip that has now proven impossible due to the war with Russia.
“He thinks he’s doing the right thing,” Hayden points out. “He’s a fantastic father, he really is.”

“But I don’t think he fully grasps that as she gets older, kids need their moms ,” she conveyed to Pinkett Smith and her fellow co-hosts.
Hayden worries that her prolonged absence will have an everlasting effect on her and Kaya’s relationship.

“I remember her dad calling me, and he said, ‘Kaya’s going around and asking other women if she could call them mommy .'”
The former child star said at that very moment, her breath caught in her chest and she felt her heart break into pieces.

Hayden demanded to speak to her daughter, but the little girl would only utter nonsensical gibberish from the other end of the phone.
“I never heard her do that before,” Hayden said. “It was a trauma that she was experiencing, me not being around.”

Hayden reiterated that at no point did she ever intend to “throw out” or give away her daughter — a fact that the mainstream media has a very difficult time understanding.
For now, all Hayden can do is wait. She hopes that as she continues to better herself, Kaya’s father will see the error of his ways.
Every day is a battle, but Hayden is a fighter — just like Kaya’s father once was. And as anyone will tell you, absolutely nothing can keep a determined mother down for long.
