Fans are coming to David Beckham’s defense after he posted a photo, kissing his 8-year-old daughter on the lips — something that has sparked a ton of controversy in the past.
After sharing a photo to Instagram of himself giving his 8-year-old daughter a peck on the lips, fans have been rushing to David Beckham’s to his defense.
Some people found the photo and the act itself to be offensive and inappropriate.

This wasn’t the first time David was called out, however, for kissing his daughter on the lips.
While some might see this as a totally appropriate and genuine sign of affection between a young child and their parent, others find it “weird” and “creepy”.
Last year, after posting a photo kissing his daughter, Piers Morgan had some choice words for David on “Good Morning Britain”.
“Why would a father kiss his daughter on the lips? Don’t get it. Creepy. Weird. Creepy,” he said .
“No one does that. You post that to the world, but why?”
“Weird, weird, weird,” Piers repeated .
He then explained what he thinks is an appropriate sign of affection between parents and their children.
He explained that a “firm handshake” for sons and a “peck on the cheek” for daughters should be the standard.
David eventually commented on the backlash, revealing that kissing his children on the lips is a normal thing in his family’s household.
“I kiss all my kids on the lips,” he said. “Brooklyn, maybe not. Brooklyn’s 18, he might find that a little bit strange.”
A father kissing his adult son on the lips would definitely be questionable.
He went on to say that he’s always been affectionate with his children, as that is how he and his wife, Victoria, were both raised.
“I’m very affectionate with the kids. It’s how I was brought up and Victoria, and it’s how we are with our children .”
But unfortunately, the controversy was far from settled.
After posting another photo on Instagram, kissing his daughter on the lips just days ago, he’s had to face even more backlash.
Trolls were leaving harsh comments.
I think the rest of us can agree that any kiss between David and his daughter is not of a romantic nature, and it would be awfully strange to assume there is based on the photo he shared.
This person threatened to report David to the police.
I’m assuming they didn’t actually call the police. But regardless, this was probably the biggest overreaction of 2019.
Some people left less aggressive disapproving comments.
While some people think it’s okay to kiss your daughter, they don’t think that doing it on the lips is the right place for it.
