>I have always wanted my children to have my old things from my childhood and that included the dresser set. And you did that. Your kid has your things. Just not your bio kid. But she is your kid nonetheless. YTA.
As a step mom and bio mom I don’t understand why these women don’t consider the kids their partner has aren’t part of their family and their children. It’s what you sign up for when you marry a single parent. Yes the relationship may be different with the kids, it’s harder to come in and there are boundaries and decisions out of your hands, but that should not prevent anyone from treating them with the same level of love and respect they have for their biological children. You’re not there to replace the mother, but you’re there as another parent and caregiver. OPs kids are blood related to their step daughter and her husband. OP is absolutely a major f**king a-hole.
